Wow. It wasn't that long ago that he announced his illness.
He was one of the better anchors of our day, I think. I always enjoyed his work and respected him for his professionalism. Sad to see him go.
Yeah,
They broke in on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to announce. What a wonderful life. I respected him.

Although, I rarely watched TV News in recent years, Jennings was around for much of my life. I believe he was an anchor for 20 years or so. There was always something very "secure" about seeing him on TV reporting on the latest event.
He will be missed.

He was one of the few network anchors I liked, and I'm very saddened by this news. Class act, all the way.

He was one of the greats, and a personal role model to me. I'm sad to see him go as well.

I'm totally shocked. I can't remember a time when he wasn't anchoring, or at least having a strong presence in television. He will certainly be missed.

Cancer is a horrible thing. Was he a smoker?
He was very professional in his anchoring job. While I did not care for his politics, he was an outstanding anchorman.
I believe he will be the last great one. The big three are off the air now - Brokaw, Rather, and Jennings, and the nightly news ratings keep going down. Too many news outlets now to make the anchorman superstar.
His passing is truly the end of an era in media.
