File this under bizarre late-night Denny's ocurrances.
After the cemetary screening of "Strangers on a Train" on Saturday night, Zappp, Isaac, CP, and I went to Denny's for coffee and a bite. At the end of our meal, a man with copious dreadlocks tucked under a rastafari style knit hat walked by our table. But something about it was weird...then it hit me, there was a reggae song playing on the Denny's speakers at that exact moment! By some cosmic coincidence, this dude had his pressence announced by theme music from above.
Had us wondering what our theme music would be. Pathetically, we couldn't come up with any. I mean, there's plenty of music I like that I'd LIKE to be my theme music, but it's only meaningful to me. The question was more, if a stranger saw me walking by, what music would they expect based solely on my appearance? I'm wary of what the potential answer would be (and Lisa, if you say "the dreidel song", so help me... :p )
What would your theme music be?

Having just watched Lost in Translation agian for the third time and thinking that I may be falling in love with Sophia Coppola - I think it would have to be the ambient loungy sounds of Air or similar EuroLounge bands. I feel I can fit that groove.
I'm enjoying J-pop at the moment, but I think those sounds are too extroverted for me. Likewise, I'd love to claim a contemporary Samba soundtrack, but I think I lack the suave sexiness to pull it off.
For you GD, I think I could easily hear a ska beat accompaniment to your look.

Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel
I don't know the words
Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel
I think it sounds absurd.
The first song that popped into my head for me was "Hey Big Spender" - even though it's a "man's" song. I just dig that crazy beat, yeah.
At Disneyland, it is Heffalumps and Woozles - which I quite like.
Perhaps, "Everybody Wants to be a Cat" would do.

For Not Afraid, I would pick a variety of Torch singers - Julie London comes first to mind, but I think it works best when wearing vintage inspired clothes.

Every time I consider what my soundtrack would be, I grow afraid that I wouldn't like whatever it was.
And no, "Dear Prudence" doesn't fit me at all.

The theme from Match Game.
NA - Moon River, I get a totally Audrey Hepburn vibe whenever I see you
GD - Nelson Riddle's Route 66 theme. You always look like you should be driving around in a convertible.
CP - Powerhouse, very methodical and driven, probably a librarian thing. Oh, and its in a lot of Bugs Bunny cartoons.
€ - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, to complement your James Masonish good looks.
Tref - Albert Ketelbey's "In a Persian Market", performed by Wilbur de Paris.

I don't get a soundtrack. I don't even exist in this story, since my presence at the event described in the O.P. was obliterated by referring to Isaac twice and me nonce.

Hmmm -- my soundtrack? Kind of hard to say, because it revolves all the time. I have to say, I'm very partial to Madeleine Peyroux at the moment, though --- I don't know.
I think some nice spy music would accompany Chris (on the PC, and haven't memorized the code for euro), and I'm with you on the Julie London going with NA. CP, I'm going with Beatles, though I can't be sure..
I don't know -- what's my soundtrack??

Perhaps the better way to ask is, "What are other people's sountracks," because I wasn't so much trying to come up with music that fit my own personality, but rather what music a stranger would think iconic of me just by looking at me (afterall, it could very well be that the guy in Denny's hates reggae...)

Heh, considering you're the one who pointed out SOMA FM, I would easily have picked that as your soundtrack
I don't know -- what's my soundtrack??
Aside from the above, I could see you with some classic jazz instrumentals, maybe a Charlie Parker, or Theloneous Monk

CP - Powerhouse, very methodical and driven, probably a librarian thing. Oh, and its in a lot of Bugs Bunny cartoons.
I love that song, with it's 40's swing beat. I wish I was that driven. But due to those cartoons it's hard not to think of factories gone horribly wrong while listening to it. Or are you trying to tell me something? ;)
CP, I'm going with Beatles, though I can't be sure..
Heh, when I was in high school, I dressed the part for that one.
I wish my soundtrack would include that Cake song "Short Skirt, Long Jacket", but I don't think I can pull it off.

How about The Clash's "I Fought the Law"?

Since you started this thread, GD, I wanted yours to be special. This is one I'd want for my own soundtrack (if I were from California and didn't have concrete in my bloodstream):

Here's a swankier tune for Pru. I call it "Pru in the Courtroom". (http://personal.linkline.com/cemeinke/SND/Prutheme.mp3)

Oooh! That's nifty! It calls for a helluvalotta sexy chick strut, plus strategic moments where one hypothetically stops to adjust one's stocking, revealing a hint of lace at the cleavage as one bends over. Much better than the Clash. (Because when I fight the law, I expect to leave the winner.)
And in that same mood, I'd have to add the Perry Mason theme to the overall soundtrack.
And maybe the Peter Gunn theme.
