Not Afraid

I met one of the authors of the Beatsville book recently and have been meaning to share. I've also been meaning to buy, read and review the book, but I'm not there yet. I started up a conversation with him because he had a Mattel Talking Beatnik doll sitting next to his boook display. I STILL have my dolls, and one still talks.
This one seems to have gotten a perm somewhere in the 80's

Until I get the book, have fun exploring their very hip site - Beatsville (http://www.beatsvillepad.com/).
There's some great Beat-inspired art, including work by Tim Biskup who is like a Beat Mary Blaire to me.

Good stuff and a bunch of links I haven't even explored yet. If you find anything good, let us know!:snap:
