I'm working on a web site that will need to host some streaming video. I'm running IIS 6.0 with plenty of horsepower and bandwidth but I've not looked into the subject for a few years. Is netshow still a free plug-in for that (I like the free part) or can anyone suggest a good free (or close to it) option for hosting your own streaming vid's?

Too bad you probably arn't in the mood to take on a heavy learning curve, cause I am pretty sure FreeBSD comes with much of the software you would need to create any type of hosting service you would need. Don't know what to use for a windows based server solution.

Quicktime Broadcaster is free, and I'm pretty sure you can use it on IIS.

It looks like Quicktime broadcaster is used to create the content rather than stream it but it pointed me in the right direction.

Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/compare/webservvstreamserv.aspx)

Thanks.

Quicktime Streaming Server (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/streamingserver/), but it looks like that is Mac only anyway.
