So I'm dying to go in October to the Mickey's Halloween Treat. Anyone else considering going?

Is this the thing at DCA? I'm clueless as usual lately. :(

We're going be down on one of the weekends, with an infant in tow... we opt in for the photo ops, though I doubt it's gonna be a "knock your socks off" event for the adults...but I hope Disney proves me wrong.

I'm planning to attend for one of the nights, but have not decided which date yet. As the following information taken directly from the Annual Passholder section of disneyland.com indicates, it seems like it will be an event geared for kids, but I'm going anyway. Just the novelty of seeing Mickey and friends dressed for Halloween will be entertaining. Personal speculation: I am guessing the Hollywood & Dine building could be used to stage this type of event.

For kids, the only thing more fun than trick-or-treating at Halloween is trick-or-treating at "Mickey's Halloween Treat," a private costume party in Disney's California Adventure™ park. This not-so-scary celebration lets little ghosts and goblins (and princesses, pirates and superheroes too) join their Disney Character friends for an evening of Halloween fun and games. In addition to collecting candy and surprises at treat stations throughout the park, kids and their families will enjoy lively music, interactive games and special activities. It's Halloween Disney style!

They did one years ago in Disneyland and now they are bringing it back but to DCA. My friend went to the one they had before and said it was a lot of fun because all the villians are around for photo ops that you don't normally get. I'm all about the villians!

I'm still trying to recruit a friend or two to go with me and I'm trying to convince them it'll be fun! Luckily my one friend has a young son so I think I may win her over.

Now I am missing the Disney halloween specials with all the greatest villian moments from the Disney feature films, hope they show them this year.

I'm with you on that one. I love the villians. Which is why I want to go to the Halloween Treat. Plus, I love Halloween!

We could make it to the one on the 21st, but with it being in DCA and with us having a 10AM international flight the next day, we're not too keen on the idea. All the other days, we'll be in Paris.

The difference between the ones done in Disneyland and the one being set in DCA this coming Halloween is the difference between, wait for it .... Disneyland and DCA.

The Disneyland events were likely the most awesome events ever held in the Park (other than the 30th birthday), and the same simply CANNOT be duplicated in DCA. Impossible.

Yawn.

True. But then I don't completely hate DCA but the difference is night and day.

I suppose the Tower of Terror area could be made appropriately spooky, and that - if they have the guts to do it - Paradise Pier could be made into quite the creepy carnival.

But it's not gonna be anywhere near as effective as what they did to the Castle, to the Haunted Mansion, to the Jungle Cruise and to New Orleans Square. Sorry. Not interested, but y'all have fun.
