Believe it or not.

Instead of "Remain seated please - Permanecer sentados, por favor" it now says "Remain seated with your seatbelt fastened - Permanecer sentados, por favor."

1) They JUST put that famous old spiel into the fireworks show.

2) The translation doesn't make any sense. They don't care to say "please" to those that speak English, and don't care to tell Spanish-speakers to keep their seatbelts fastened.

3) This is such a geeky thing that I'd be embarrassed to complain to City Hall about it, yet this makes me angrier than most of their transgressions.

4) There is absolutely no reason to change it!

I'm a totally geeky purist so I think my feelings on this can be easily surmised. :)

Doesn't surprise me. Once they changed the one in The Haunted Mansion I knew they wouldn't stop there. I'm still pissed off they changed the Casey JR spiel (both loading & unloading).

Ugh.

Yeah, they're working their way through the park and making the spiels "better" from a safety perspective. I'm very glad it is preserved along with its retired brothers and sisters in Remember.

Darn.....that was like my favorite speil ever...everyone knows what it is, even the non-Disney geeks. I almost want to put it on my iPod and listen to it while I get off the ride next time...

Bitte bleiben sie in boat sitzen.

That's my favorite.

Not only that but they also added to the safety spiel before the lift
" No flash pictures, please! Abominable snowmen are sensative to bright lights ! "

But this one I just don't get. It's not asking you to keep your hands, arms, feet and legs inside the bobsled before the ride, and there's no safety spiel for that all-important liability waiver. Rather, it's asking you to keep your seatbelt on after the ride is over, precisely 2.6 seconds before you are supposed to somehow magically know it's really time to unfasten your seat belt.

Yeeech!

However, I love the irony and world-evident stupidity of almost simultaneously declaring the spiel a Disneyland Classic, and removing it from the attraction. If only the Paul Frees Mansion travesty could have had so much light thrown on its horrificness.

Okay, why I certainly don't agree with or like that other change to the spiel  , I find the aforementioned addition pretty cute. :)

Thank goodness this bit of new information regarding a sensitivity to flash was never revealed to Yukon Cornelius. A Rudolph Christmas may have been altered forever with the result of a tragic, blinded Bumble. :(

Oh God, that's not even that clever or funny.

This makes me wonder...

If the lawyers are so intent to overly notify the unaware masses of the proper safe behavior to be followed in theme park as well as other real life situations (the signs! the signs are everywhere!), why is it they don't go overboard in the courthouses???

Lawyers, practice what you preach in your work place! But then again, we would end up with a manual nearly a foot thick with legal mumbo jumbo that would be sent to our homes before court cases and jury duty. The justice system would grind to an almighty halt if we had to read it all!

Looking back on the old days of Disneyland, it looks like we were all living on the brink of disaster! I'm amazed that we all lived to tell our kids and grandkids about our visits to Disneyland. :p

Which talents are exceptional. He cracks me up, and others, routinely. And the riff about Harold and the Mansion spiel was so appropriate and amusing.

But, whateva. Don't laugh at his yolks anyway, cause he's mine, all mine.

Oh no, my comment just shows how ignorant I am. You see I haven't visited Disneyland in over a year and a half, i'm kinda oblivious to things like this spiel thing. :(

See, there's a time between brain process and post. Only this time, I posted before I processed. ;)

more changes this week to seating guidelines in the sleds.

while it made sense that larger passengers would enter first,

as was the previous guideline,

the NEW seating chart has Sactown worried he will get squished:
