At first I was just upset that someone had changed those wonderful kitschy dinosaurs in Cabazon. Now that I've read the whole article, I'm speechless.

I read the article, but I'll be damned if I can figure out the connection - Poor Dinosaurs, just another set of pawns in the culture wars.

"Go to Disneyland, they teach evolution. It's subtle; signs that say, 'Millions of years ago' " said evangelist Kent Hovind, the park's founder.

Which sign would that be? Anyone recall such a sign?

Gah, look at me. I'm focusing on the Disneyland inaccuracy as if that is all that is wrong with the creatonists argument.

It's the rotating sign at the Tomorrowland train station advertising Primeval World. It does mention "millions of years ago", and I overheard a parent say something to their kid like, "Of coure, that's not true, is it billy? The world is only about 6000 years old."

And I guess "god" intentionally created all the evidence of "millions of years old" as a misinformation campaign to throw all the scientists off. "God" and his silly sense of humor.

Just two weeks ago IRS agents raided Dinosaur Adventure Land to remove financial documents from Mr. Hovind's home and offices, saying he was not paying taxes on a couple million dollars of income, and had neither a business license nor tax-exempt status for his enterprises. Said Hovind, with righteous zeal, "I don't have any tax obligations."

any updates on this idiot? The LA Times didn't mention anything...

It's contradictory.

Scientists use dinosaurs to lure innocent little children to the evils of evolution. Bad scientists!

But apparently for children there's something in their DNA that knows man walked with these creatures on Earth.

So are we talking dinosaur bad or dinosaur good?

But the main thing seems to be that creationists are able to find things that are threats to their faith everywhere they look. How sad to live in a world like that.

Gee, why is it these people never seem to think that they have to pay taxes? Anyway, I loved the "for these people, the Flinstones is a documentary" comment.:D

I think he disputed owing millions in taxes stating that he only owed $6000.

I was curious (and bored) and found this tidbit on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind).

He claimed that as a minister of God everything he owns belonged to God and he is not subject to paying taxes to the United States on the money he received for doing God's work (citing US tax code §508(c)(1)(a)). The court ordered him to pay the money and supported the IRS view that Hovind's claim "was filed in bad faith for the sole purpose of avoiding payment of federal income taxes." In the ruling, the judge called Hovind's arguments "patently absurd."

This guy is a freakin' nutjob!
