Disneyland October car giveaway

As you may know, Disneyland is giving away a car (Honda Civic) a day in
October. There's a display in the esplanade between DL and DCA that
includes a smaller (compared to the real one) model of Space Mountain which
has a Honda Civic on either side. Next to the model is a video screen that
shows video of various present and past attractions (I didn't sit through
the whole cycle, so I don't know what the whole thing says), which means
even though the Block Party Bash cone is gone, the esplanade is still a very
loud place.

Does this mean post-summer attendance has dropped drastically? Otherwise, why the promotion after the big-birthday, traditional daily car-giveaway season has ended?

APers are eligible as well. You're supposed to get some kind of game piece on your first entry into either DL or DCA. Here's the link to the official rules and info (http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/calendar/specialEvents/detail?name=CoolestRideSpecialEventDetailPage). There's been lots of discussion on other boards about how it all works, but I just figure I'll go, get a game piece on each visit, and then figure it out if I actually get any kind of winning piece.

Disney is claiming that the Civic is the coolest car in the universe? I can't say that I follow the industry too closely, but I think I would have heard if every other automaker went out of business in the past 2 weeks.

No, Space Mountain is the coolest ride in the galaxy. Winning the Civic just gets you to the coolest ride. That or the air conditioner in the Civic cools the car more than air conditioners in other cars...
