OOOH! We actually turned on our TV last night and flipped chanels. After some REALLY DUMB experiences we came across TCM. They were showing the original Murneau/Max Shreck Nosferatu. We caught about half of it. One of my goals today was to look at TCMs schedule. I think I've actually been missing something on TV!

Silent Sunday Nights can be very fun, TCM has some great films in their silent library.
Cartoon Alley is also a TCM special to watch for (plays vintage cartoons 4 times a month, it's themed) and some are real rarities. No Disney, but WB and MGM toons.
If you love old films, TCM is a great spot since Turner owns the pre-1950 Warner Brothers, MGM and RKO libraries. They have been branching out and showing some more modern era films, but they have not sold out like AMC did. At least with TCM, if the film is letterboxed, you will see it in widescreen, unlike the pan-and-scan everywhere else.
Turner also funds some fabulous documentaries on film and famous film folk. The recent photoplay production shown on Greta Garbo was fab (it will like as not get a replay in October) - entitled simply, GARBO, nothing need more be said!
They also note the passing of the dwindling number of Hollywood Greats, in September they marked the passing of Robert Wise. Okay, so they DID show West Side Story, but they also showed The Body Snatcher, which is one of the best in the horror genre and the best for Boris Karloff, those final few minutes scares the pants off you.
And, no, I am not affiliated in any way with TCM or Turner Broadcasting. If I am going to spend some time watching quality television, you will most often find me watching TCM. I'll sing their praises any day.
