Ciderella came out today, i got it at the Disney Store for $20 (pre-ordered to get the semi-lame lithograph) I see it today at Target for $16 (With a nice little glass slipper necklace too)!!!!!!!

How is it that the Disney Store can't rival Big Box Stores even with their OWN STUFF?

Circuit City is selling the DVD's for $14.99

Might want to check out the LoT calendar (http://www.xenarchy.com/LoT/calendar.php?do=getinfo&day=2005-10-4&e=74&c=1).

How is it that the Disney Store can't rival Big Box Stores even with their OWN STUFF?What makes you think it's "can't"? Try "don't want to". If it sells at that price in the Disney Store, they'll price it there. And seeing as not only did you buy it, but you pre-ordered it, it sounds like it's a strategy that's working for them.

Meh, Cinderella's never been one of my faves. The intercutting between the almost completely separate mice story and that of Cinderella just bugs me. In fact, a friend of mine who just saw it for the first time at the El Cap remarked "It's all about the mice, and hardly about Cinderella at all."

Artistically, there's nothing stand-out about it - - though it's hardly ugly to behold.

More important - - for me, I find it vital that an animated film have a good reason to be animated ... as opposed to live action. There's a reason that Cinderella has been done so often in live action, and so often better than the Disney version - - not much about it cannot be portrayed without effects. The scene where the fairy godmother transforms Cinderella and various other things is the single exception - - and I think it is the best scene in the Disney film. Other than that, the only reason this particular version needs to be animated is because it's mostly about the mice.

Meh.

(Oh, but my friend Autumn worked on the restoration. I hope you like it.)

lol! :D

You know, I was just thinking about going out and getting it... but I don't know when I would watch it. I've seen it. It's not totally my favorite... so why buy it? I guess I'll have to think on it.

Man on a budget using his head here...

Yes, she did a terrific job, looks great!

As for the story, it is what it is, but there are many great songs, as as long as my kids love it, it is all good with me.

I've been reviewing the DVD. The 'Cinderella 3 preview' is just a teaser trailer made entirely of footage from Cinderella, edited w/a voice over asking what would have happened if Cinderella never attended the ball.

The DVD also has a 1922 silent cartoon version of Cinderella

I'd buy the DVD for the Mary Blair artwork alone!

Ciderella came out today

I'm very proud of Cinderella, and hope that everyone will be supportive and loving as she makes this momentous decision.

I like Cinderella but Sleeping Beauty was always my personal favorite. I wish I had the cash to purchase all the Disney movies I want, including this one (even if it's not a fav) but I'm on a budget like Gemini. Do wish I could have seen it at the El Cap. My friend said it was pretty great!

Ciderella's a whole other story. Something about a girl who was so ugly she couldn't get a date with anyone unless they were drunk on Wyder's Cider. It's really quite touching, right up until the guy's sober up and see her in good light. Then it's just kinda uncomfortable.
