Like most people, I have lots to do and never enough time to do it. Especially when it infringes on my quality computer time, but I digress.

Lately, I've been making a bit of noise about all the household responsibilities I have, attempting to elicit help from the three other persons who share my space. One of my biggest 'pet' peeves is we have somehow managed to acquire ten animals, and it has fallen upon my shoulders to care for them. (Mind you, I brought only two of them into this house). I clean the aviary, I clean the fish tank, I clean the cat boxes, and I feed all the little beasties. Well, last week my hubby and MIL bought a self-cleaning cat box. I admit, I was skeptical, and a little annoyed. I mean, really, how frikken lazy can you get?

I am in awe of it. I can't believe we lived without it. I love it! No smell- ever- and the cats seem to like it too. Boris, our big Moo cat who was too large to fit in the former enclosed model cat box, is even using it. No messes outside the box. They even watch it for entertainment! (No kidding- after they go, it whirrs into action and they watch it, seemingly fascinated). Well, they're easily entertained. But I digress. Today, I added a feeder and waterer to the mix- no more wondering if they were out of water, or running low on food. So now they can eat more, and then go poop and be entertained while it's being cleaned up! Everyone's happy! Our house smells better, and there are a few less things for me to do at midnite before I go to bed.

I love modern technology. Anyone with any new tech marvels to share, please feel free to do so, especially if it will help me keep the aviary clean with minimal energy expended.:D

Wendybeth:

I beleive that this aviery (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1795768&cat=90774&type=1&dept=4044&path=0%3A4044%3A90548%3A90546%3A90774) comes with a self cleaning feature.

I cat-sat a house with a self-cleaning catbox and loved it, but with 5 cats, I'm not sure it would work for us. That's a lot of poo and pee.

The dog version of cat litter looks interesting. But I doubt Frodo would use it. I think he would see it as being beneath him. And with those short legs, there aren't a lot of things that are beneath him. HA.
:D

Do they make one of those the size of a backyard?

We have three cats, and while you need to change out the container a bit more often, it still beats the hell out of cleaning the dang thing yourself. We have two other litter boxes located in strategic areas of the house, but they seem to prefer the self-cleaning one. Also, Boris has not gone on the floor since we got this one.

I am fond of blenders and toasters.

I'm just waiting for my future GPS system to make it's way into my car...or for me to make my way into a new car with a GPS system. <drool>

I love the future!

this is that modern...at least the idea isn't, but i hate using the large clunky blenders. So I bought the bullet system. It is so cool, easy to clean up, it goes right in the microwave, and it even has cups so daquaris and margaritas are easy to make and very litlle mess and no huge blender to lug out...:) ...it's the best thing in my kitchen right now, but he bread machine is in close second...LOL

I love my Starbucks card. I give them the card to swipe, they give me my coffee, and I don't have to hit the ATM every couple of days. I load it up as needed at their website. :coffee:

Why can't I swipe a card at the laundromat so I don't have to hoard quarters? Why can't I pay for everything this way?

Mine's pink. Oh, sorry. Were we talking about blenders again?
