I am so obsessed with Pumpkin Spice Lattes - probably because I just can't afford to have them as much as I'd like - which is every day.
So, over the weekend, I've been experimenting.
I have an espresso maker but couldn't find one of the pieces :( so I ground my coffee extra fine and use a lot of coffee for a little bit of water to make extra strong coffee more similar to espresso. I need to find the missing piece or maybe I'll try some instand espresso powder I guess. The coffee was fine though.
I used my machine to steam the milk - but you could just microwave or heat it up in a pan I think.
I made a simple syrup and add pumpkin pie filling - but it was very weak on pumkin and overly sweet in the coffee.
So then I made less simple syrup and more pumpkin - but tried simply canned pumpkin. That was better but was still very lacking in pumpkin.
So I looked online and noticed that Torani now makes a Pumpkin Spice syrup that I'm going to have to get. I think that Smart & Final carries Torani syrup and doesn't Costco too? I'll have to check it out.
Until then - you know that Dryers Pumpkin Ice Cream is also very very tasty. Like icy cold and very creamy pumpkin pie. Yum!

my sister is enjoying a pupkin pie shake from Jack in the box right now. She says it's good but I don't know.... I worry it would be too sweet.... But pumpkin pie ice cream, in and of itself, is spectacular.

Love the Torani syrups, Smart & Final, $3.69.
Unfortunately they don't make a sugar-free pumpkin spice. :(

Damn. I went to Smart and Final and they carried so many flavors -but not pumpkin spice. For those interested, they did have ginger spice which might make for a good recipe for their gingerbread latte or whatever it was called.
I also tried Bevmo online but they didn't have it either. :(
I may just have to order it from some company online.

Where do you live? Several S & Fs around here (L.A.) have the pumpkin syrup.

Many grocery stores carry them in CA, ontherwise, when you are out of state like me, torani syrups (http://www.italiansyrups.com/c=6yJHHMxnkWZxxDUBqM5FmNbDQ/s=italiansyrups.com/category/italiansyrups.01.01/)

Unfortunately, very few of them (if any?) carry the Pumpkin spice flavor of Torani. I finally gave up and ordered some Torani from an online store complete with a pump for it.
To celebrate, I went to Starbucks. ;)

So I ordered it online. The money came out of my account. No syrup. :( Now it's on backorder as (so I'm told) Torani has experienced a higher then expected demand of it. So I'm off to Starbucks to get my fix - and then I'll put in my Vampire teeth. Otherwise they'll melt off while I drink it.
And I SHOULD have my syrup by end of this week. I'll report on whether it makes a good coffee or not.

So, I bought myself some sugar-free vanilla ice cream and a can of pumpkin. Threw a scoop of pumpkin and 2-ish scoops of ice cream into the blender, added some pumpkin pie spice, a packet of splenda, and some carb countdown milk and finally had a pumpkin spice milkshake all you people have been ranting about! Sans sucre!
Pretty darn tasty. What I'm going to do is mix the entire can of pumpkin with the ice cream, pour it back into the container and see if it freezes back into a decent consistency.

Sounds delish - although I'm more fond of the hot coffee version. Can you make that happen for me sugar free? :) If you could mass produce it, you'd make a fortune!

I bought some coffeemate in Gingerbread and Eggnog flavors (2 for $5) the other day. I'm just trying the gingerbread now. It's good, but it's not the same as using the syrup from starbucks.
But, I brought this up on MC and someone said they have a Pumpkin flavor coffeemate too. I didn't see it at the store, but I have tried the pepermint which is actually good, and not too strong.

Finally rec'd my Torani syrup. It's good - but not as good as Starbucks. Damn!
