Members of Oingo Boingo will be playing a Halloween show on the 29th at the Grove of Anaheim! Danny may not be there, but Rick will be (one Elfman is better then none!) I never got to see the real thing so I will take anything I can get!

Just don't go expecting any Oingo Boingo songs...
They'll be playing quite a different set list ;)

Hmmmm I don't know they say they will be playing hits from Oingo Boingo, I am sure they will be playing other stuff too though. I actully think Danny might be behind all of this, but they want to keep his involvment on the down low so that people don't think the band is getting back together to make a new album or something.

God how I miss those Boingo Halloween shows. What great times and memories. But Boingo without Danny Elfman is like a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich with out the Jelly. He's the show!
I will say that since you never got to go Boingonut - the old shows held at Irvine Meadows (now Verizon Wireless Amp) were just beyond awesome.
Oingo Boingo Halloween Memories:
The Pope doing the blessing
Johnny Vatos running up and down the stage with a handheld crappy little keyboard strapped to him and literally flipping head over heals with out missing a beat.
Danny Elfman with a giant blow up halloween hat shaped like a spider
The always watery Lawn that you slipped & slid on all night. You brought boxes just so you could slide all night! I loved standing on the lawn
The annual halloween contest that got crazier and crazier every year
Dead Man's Party Skeleton dance (think that was 88) = Just the music, no vocals and 5 guys in glow in the dark skeleton outfits. AMAZING!!
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, can ever top those shows. Makes me miss it everytime I hear about it.

Man those shows sound cool...I wish I was 10 years older and was born in L.A. Oh well. I'll take what I can get though. A friend of mine from Utah is going to be going as well, we have been waiting for 10 years for a show like this. It may or may not have Danny there but maybe just maybe it will capture the spirit of what once was the greatest halloween show ever! For that I will happily go! :D

Is the whole place SRO? Or has it just semi-sold out?
How is the Grove?
