Catalin looked up the great beast Onyixia turned her eyes fixed on the proud mage defending her companions at great peril to herself she knew that being singled out by the lumbering beast meant instant death. but she continued standing bravely amongst the demons descending blast after blast of arcane magic at those summoned figures who would destroy her guild brethren despite the danger she stood as if unmoveable.

The first fiery hit knocked her back entirely she dropped her magical dagger yet her brilliant white robe stayed perfectly un-cinged due to the magical essences that coursed through every fiber imbued painstakingly when she made it not so long ago. Though it mitigated the outer appearance of any pain or physical damage marks she was weakened in a way that cut deeper and burned hotter than anything a normal human could bear. She thought of everything that she loved in the world as the air compressed and a fiery blast made its way to end her existence her eyes slowly opened. “So this is it this is death,” she thought for an instance but something felt not quite right. She was still there the demons still lapping at her rune cloth boots. A protective shield had been cast unlike any holy shield or heal that had ever been cast on her before if felt diferent and it was lasting far too long.

Just then the dwarf that cast it fell to the ground. He was unprepared for this battle from the begning by any standard. His equipment was average his experience fighting creatures of this magnitude was little, but he had come none the less and was told to stay to the rear and do what little he could to help the raiding party. His main task failed so he quickly reverted to his healing powers which were not formidable by any means but they did seem to arrive just in time. To aid those in dire need such as one of the warriors taking the beast head on or elderly priest who had used all his healing energy on others and saved none for himself. Catalin herself had gotten him included in this raid although he did not warrant going on his own. The loot experience and fame of successful completion made every spot most valued. He did not come for those reasons though but out of fear for her safety.

When he saw Catalin take the first blast there was no thought in his mind other than protecting her. For he had loved Catalin since he was an apprentice blacksmith at Iron forge and she a young tailor in a little shop on the canals of storm wind. He also knew that this was a dangerous place for those who could not withstand the heat of fire. He knew that a heal would not arrive in time for the beautiful mage so he prepared another spell one that would cost him his own life in exchange for hers.

It cast quicker than he had anticipated and he felt the cold grip of the magic take his life-force which is needed for this the ultimate protection one could give. He had no reservations or guilt when death took him because he knew that she would be safe he
cast Divine Intervention knowing that he could not live without his beloved Catalin.

When she realized that she was unable to use any magic or be harmed in any way essentially taking her out of the fight and finally looked over at the fallen dwarf she sat in shock and wept. For she too loved the dwarf more than anything in the world till their paths took them apart.

I was so wrong dear. And I am ashamed because of it  .

I love you... Catalin of Stormwind
