I just got back from Goblet of fire. Great movie but that's not really what this post is about.
I feel old. Most everybody there was about 19 years old or younger except my wife and myself and a small handfull of others who can claim to have done the safety dance. Less then 10 years ago I was a hockey player who never felt any pain durring a game save a little stiffness the next day.....I just sat for 4 hours(had to get a good seat) in one spot and for the last hour of Goblet all I could think of was "am I going to be able to get up when the movie is over:confused: "....well I did get up but the car ride home was torture.
1000 mg of advil are now starting to do their wonders....good night:D

You know, it seemed that through our 20s and 30s we had the same small bottle of advil in our medicine cabinet. But as soon as we turned 40, it seems everytime we go shopping we are buying the largest size bottle of advil available, and it never seems to last.

You have lived my future. Tomorrow bright and early I get to go stand in line outside (45-50 degrees) for a few hours prior to sitting in the theater for the movie.
We have tickets already but we just HAVE to get there early so we can get good seats...

Aging is such a funny thing. I know I'm still young compared to some but I can really feel the difference when I see teens.
When I'm faced with that I try to focus on the future...about how glad I am that I'm no longer that young, and that each year is better than the last...and that I love looking forward to the next step.
Of course this doesn't help when you're at a youthful event and you're the old guy ;)

Well, I am at an awkward age in life.....too old for Midnight movie premiers but too young for Canasta;)

Oh dear this frightens - I confess that in my past I was obsessed with playing Canasta. I even have a few books on the subject.

I have no sense of my age. I often feel that I took a misstep somewhere between childhood and adulthood and have managed to stay blissfully in a prolonged state of adolescence. I really don't feel all that different. I still dress pretty much the same. I don't even really know how to tie a tie.
And yet, sad though it may be, I still think of myself as "cool." My wife keeps assuring me that what was once "cool" is now merely eccentric.
