I wasn't sure if this was appropriate to put in the Open Mic Snow thread, so I started a new one.
I just spent the last 45 minutes shoveling snow from the sidewalk in front of our house and from the world's longest driveway leading up to our garage. It had stopped snowing, so I figured I better do it before it packs down and gets icy.
And can I just say, I'm pooped. It's not easy and it sucks. AND it's hard on a girl's manicure! And I hear it's something you have to do over and over again...
Then, just as I'm finished with the whole thing, it starts snowing again. Then it did this weird snow and rain thing. Ugh. It may be time to visit my friends in Hawai'i. :D
During the whole thing, I did get to show off my new Sorel snow boots and black parka. So there was an upside.
Now there's thunder and lightning as I'm writing this. What an attention diva the weather is...

This is why I live in Phoenix. I despise cold wet weather.

according to my marginally accurate thermometer, its just shy of 80F here in sunny So Cal (Yeah, I moved).
What is this 'snew' youre referring to?

I think it's some sort of seasonal mental condition...

I do have some weather complaints here in Phoenix. I am having to cover my ficus trees because the temp at night is dropping to the high 20s during a recent cold snap. Last night was not as bad.

I saw an inflatible lawn decoration the other day that made me laugh. It's a huge blow up snow globe with santa and a snow man in it. It blows fake snow around inside the globe. Okay, I saw one of those on someone's lawn out in the real snow. Seems kinda silly to me.

Yup, textbook SoCal winter day. Rainy all night, cloudy in the morning (but the ground already nearly dry*), birght sunny 85 by lunch. Faaaantastic.

*One of the odder things to get used to for a Southern Californian if you're visiting, say, Seattle...if it hasn't rained for a day or 2, the ground may still very well be wet! Down here, if it hasn't rained in the last 60 minutes, all pavement and asphalt is dry. A few more hours, and your lawn is dry. The perpetual wetness is somehow oddly unsettling if you're not used to it.

They should make a Roomba Snowplow. I would so buy one. Even though it doesn't snow here.

Yep, now I know why the boys around here are so beefy.

Boy, my heart goes out to you and I hope you had some spiked hot chocolate or something to keep you warm. The nor-easter people get it much much worse than we do down here. :coffee:
Thank God, because I don't want to shovel my drive, my walkway is hard enough (without spewing gravel all over the place too which is in between the paving stones) and the actual driveway to the mailboxes is about 1/2 mile! Fortunately, that is not my responsibility!
The snow and ice are melting here, now in the ugly snow phase.

Since it hasn't snowed lately, the snow still on the ground is in a funky stage. The snow is dirty and sort of melted and turning into ice. It's also freakin' slippery. I have almost eaten sh!t twice. Very embarassing. The best thing to do is laugh after it happens. That covers up the mortification I'm feeling inside... :D
I can't believe I live in a place that when it hits 40 degrees, I think 'Hey, it's a warm day!' Bleh. :D

I work for a snowblower shop, we had to go tall the Home Depot's and Lowes in the State and do this recall on the fuel line of the engine, or it would fall off and could cause a fire, that was some good fun!

The main reason I don't have a Roomba is because I know the Danes wouldn't leave it alone. They'd get plenty of exercise though!
