A few of you might remember the fabuliously fun and resourceful site, Yesterdayland.com. It was a great enjoyment to many until it was put to an untimely death at the hands of fighting Hollywood bigwigs and their attorneys. But, the spirit of the site is being resurrected - as we speak. The two Gurus of Yesterdayland (our own Boss Radio is one of them) have put together another site that has the potential to be something even more fabulous that the long lamented Yesterdayland.

The site is up and running but is not nearly finished yet. You are welcome to sign up, look around, participate in writing memories and discussing in the discussion board. It's a bit wild west at the moment since we don't even have any rules or FAQs, but that will change soon.

So, please take a look at www.retroland.com (http://www.retroland.com) and join in if you feel like it.

I'm still NA over there and I'm involved in RL in a big way.

If you sign up, please post your name here.

Thanks!

I'm known as "That Guy" over there. So far I've only lurked on the boards and added a few memories here and there, but I'm sure that will change over time.

I am planning on adding more, but is it silly to say that.....while I love the idea and content, I really really really really dislike the colors and design. I have this huge mental block against the Seventies and all the colors and such that were popular then. I'll work on it. Maybe desensitization- just a post here and there, force myself to look at the Harvest Gold for lengthening periods of time....If you think I'm bad now, you should have seen me back then.

Oaky, I made another post. I find if I shield my eyes at just the right angle, I can minimise the exposure to the Harvest Gold. I'll keep plugging away.

I'm snowflake there as well. Still lurking as I've barely scratched the surface.

Kevy, it's a magical place where you may post memories of your beloved Joyce! I think she'd approve of the color scheme.....;)

ARRRis RRRRRRight!

We have yet to figure out why SOME people are approved and other are not. We have some freaky sorting hat involved or something.

I'll take care of it.

Actually, I've alerted the programmer to see if we can figure out what the problem is first, then I will manually approve you.

Well, this is a bit different. Nothing can replace our happy community here. But, this has the potential to be as big as a LJ or MySpace. But, Joyce would be so happy at RL. So very happy.

Well at least my "RetroFile" catches the essence of my being. It says:

"Please check back later, Moonliner has no memories of anything yet"

I'm Bacon over there. So far, my only contribution has been a bit of style input (which I'm glad to see was taken to heart).

LOL! Oh it was taken to heart alright. And, it is somewhere on the programmers list of things to do. Right there after the boards become a place where I don't scream at them. ;)

Seriously, I hope it will be up and ready soon so you can add more input. But, feel free to add to other things in the meantime.

The big cheese over there once told me that the magical thing about the Retroland concept is that once you start posting about your memories about the pop and zing of your youth, you'll discover stumbling upon many other related memories that your brain pushed to the wayside. And I've found this to be definitely true.

I've been there for awhile. LSPE as per usual.

I thought of signing up as "The Sausage". For one, it would compliment "Bacon" and of course, it is the pet name scaeagles has given me.

However, for consistency sake, I went with "Motorboat Cruiser". It has a nice ring to it, I think. :)

Now I suppose I should see what all is going on over there.

I have this huge mental block against the Seventies and all the colors and such that were popular then.It would be cool if there were different skins you could select based on your decade of preference. Maybe fluorescents or Miami Vice pastel for the 80s, grunge for the 90s... That's probably more trouble than it's worth though. I know nothing of coding a web page.

I promise, NA, I will check it out. I have been frantic lately with Xmas doings and job huntings and general laziness. But I will explore retroland.com as soon as I can devote a chunk of time to it.

Yay Retroland.com! :)

Yeah, we've talked about doing this. I would love it if we could pull it off.
