Posted by a friend of mine on another board I frequent. No real purpose to posting it other than being a nice story on how much a truly wonderful important place DL is and continues to be.
Well our Disneyland 2005 trip is officially over, and what an experience! I will never understand someone's desire to fight with 70000 other people over getting to ride Space Mountain, but one event has forever changed my view of Mr. Disney's happiest place on earth. You see my little girl is going to be three soon, and as you can imagine, her life revolves around being a 'princess'. So on the first day we went to a ridiculously over-priced restaurant called 'Ariel's Grotto'. Now the kicker to this little establishment is that ALL of the Disney princess' come out while your eating and talk to the kids and play games with them. Sounds cool right? You have no idea... The look on my little girls face when she saw Cinderella was priceless. I would have paid $100 a plate for that. Her whole world lit up. She got a hug from Cinderelli, and got to spin with her (i.e. ghetto kiddy dancing). She was on cloud nine.
I guess that's when I figured out what it was all about. Or at least what it was meant to be all about: The Kids. Disneyland is magical. Truly a place when a child's imagination can run wild, and all of there dreams can come true.
Thank You Walt, wherever you are.
Bless you Walt. Your dream lives on. :)
