Just wondering if anyone here is going to the Expedition Everest previews in 2.5 weeks? I'm figuring probably not, but it doesn't hurt to ask! (They're doing previews for AP holders, DVC members, and Cast Members over the weekend of the 28-29 (including a day or two on each side of the weekend, I think)

Also, for anyone considering trips to WDW, they've changed the AP discount program again (thankfully! - the Best Rate Program was not a good approach) - and have discounts available through April. So now you can at least make an intelligent decision on getting an AP to get discounts!

Of course there will be no notification from Disney that this event is taking place.

Are they inviting all AP, DVC, and CM folks at the same time? Seems unusual.

When I originally posted, I'd thought CM previews were the same time - I was mistaken.

They did send emails to the APs holders, and I believe the DVC members, and it's on the passholder website - so I'm not sure what more notification should be made. If you didn't get one that you should have, they may not have your email and AP linked.

There's onride video available at Inside The Magic (http://distantcreations.com/insidethemagic/)

I dreamt about this ride last night. It will be interesting to see how the ride compares to my dream version.

I guess they don't have my email address, but it doesn't really matter. I'll be getting there soon enough--don't need the AP rush.

I rode twice today. It's really... short. I liked it a lot, but I would not want to wait through a long queue for it.

I won't go into any detail or description of it, because it only has a few little surprises, and those are best left for you to discover. (I also don't recommend watching the video linked above before riding, although it really can't quite capture the experience. This would be a tough attraction to get a really good video of.)

The extended queue is marvelous, full of fabulous detail. Fastpassers will be missing a lot of great stuff.

Highly recommended for the off season.

That onride video would make one think the ride's name is "The Runaway Headrest" or "The High Speed Combover Coaster". I bet I (or just about anybody not having some sort of spasmodic episode) could film a better POV.

Oops -- missed this. I don't remember much now, but I did when I watched the video, and it was kind of creepy because the part in the beginning where the train heads out into the field is eerily similar to what was, in my dream, the end of the ride.

I think the problem with doing it in the Mickey Monitor is the timing. They announced the DVC previews a couple of weeks before the APs - I'm not sure if they were waiting to verify that the attraction would be ready to accept guests, or what. Because isn't the MM published only every couple of months. I did see something in the one I read online to make sure they had your email address, so they had an inkling, but weren't sure details.

But I'm just making these things up (well, except for the DVC thing)....

There is a picture of the Yeti on Jimhillmedia.com. It's a very clear picture. Don't look at it if ya don't wanna know.

I thought it was awesome. I didn't think it was that short.

And it doesn't really matter that my email address isn't linked to my AP. ;)
