There are two "categories" for the event this time: MouseAdventure Open and MouseAdventure Invitational: The Enchanted Race. (Props to FEJ for the name) Both events are the same day.

The Open category is open to any team that wants to play. It is going to be a slightly easier MouseAdventure than previous events, and is designed to give first-time and family teams a fun day in the park.

Thanks for the link and info, Darkbeer.

I like the idea of the "Open" competition (more time and maybe slightly easier) for first-timers, families or beginners.

It will probably take my team several more MouseAdventure competitions until we come anywhere close to the skill-and-experience level of previous winning teams, like Fellowship of the Mouse; Ralph Wiggum, FEJ, and the P.O.P.; SuperStar Losers; Happy Haunts; Team Zlick; The John Henchmen/Children of the Candy Corn, etc.; just to mention a few of the teams we hope to be like one day! :)

I think the "Open" is still the same time. The Invitational is supposed to be 6 hours. The Open is going to be like a regular MA, restricted to one park. I think the Invitational is going to be the whole resort and then some. I'm sure the announcement will have all the details next week.

Actually, the Open will be a little easier, and a little longer (in time, not in material), according to the announceent, to make it more accessible to beginners.

Guess my days of playing MouseAdventure are over (along with my days of routinely creaming the competition!)

Last time I sat out in protest; this time I'll be performing a wedding on game day. By the time the next game rolls around .... well, let's just say that it won't be the only game in town at that point.

Unless I see a major shift in the Pixies, we wont be there. I cant get my past folks to step up. And I havent had sufficient time to recruit the new one fully.

Maybe you could start a Looking for Team Members thread over at MP and state you're only looking for those eligible for the Invitational? I'm not sure you'll get the exact results you're looking for though.... It'd be a crap shoot, fer sure.

Maybe you'd get enough takers by Monday to be able to sign up before the 50-team limit is reached....

Um, of course it would not the same day. We're thinking of doing it at Christmastime, which Mouseadventure abandoned.

Besides, if we have they guy who started it all, is MA really the grandaddy competition? Given the choice, do you see "The Doors" or do you see Jim Morrison?

Well, another good reason to go with a 4 player team, other than the possible game-play advantage. It's $60 per team! Which, if you're 4 players, isn't so bad at $15 a person...but that's $30 a person for us :(

Is anyone planning on going to the BBQ at Big Thunder for $28.99/person? Someone at MP (who the heck is this Corwin person anyway) mentioned that at some point during the planning, the idea was kicked around to do an event wrapup/answers review, as well as give away door prizes during this dinner, though Corwin never heard if that made it into the final decission. We didn't sign up for it.

I'm in, but sadly my husband didn't want to do the inivational. He thinks we might have a good chance at placing higher in the open with all you better teams aiming for the invitational! :D

We also vetoed the BBQ. At $28.99 a person there better be Club 33 food out there (which I doubt is the case). [I have no idea who Corwin is] but I highly doubt they would deny us answer requests that they have provided in the past because we didn't pay for the BBQ.

I'm not paying for answers. Fvck that. It'll all get discussed eventually anyway.

We should all get together at a designated restaurant after the event and before the awards ceremony.

Um, of course it would not the same day. We're thinking of doing it at Christmastime, which Mouseadventure abandoned.Ok, cool, I was confused. :)

Besides, "we" don't have the guy that started it all - MiceChat does. Hell, the guy that started it all isn't on this coast anymore and hates APers. I'd most probably go to a MiceAge event, but I wouldn't stop going to MA for that, that's for sure.

Hi, I hope it's okay if I answer some of these questions. Don't want to be a total buttinsky...

Anywho, the $28.99 is what Disney is charging MP. We definitely turned a whiter shade of pale when we saw the price, but it sure as heck beats listening to Alex yelling over a loudspeaker in the picnic area and everybody going "what, what?" And, although it was totally entertaining having Disney security glowering at us last time (hehe), we thought we'd try something new. ;) We priced every single venue in the Disneyland area and this was really the best deal by far for the amenities provided.

Corwin is a longtime Disney fan/trivia master-type guy. He's new to MP but definitely an old-timer....

I can't speak about the answers to the quests (don't have enough info on the details), but I'd be happy to see what I can find out.

So, I'd be fine chatting about this further via PM if anybody wants, but don't want to stifle any discussion here. Not what I'm here for.

The invitational event is really rockin'. And evil....

Thank you Shelia!!!!! We always like answers to questions...

and in the spirit of giving us answers please PM me all the answers for this years MA ;)

Do you know what kind of grub will be at the BBQ? I will miss the WHAT WHAT yelling. Oh well, I'll just be able to hear him now. :D

Sheila - so it's that much per person, but the use of the area is free after that? Do they need a minimum of people to buy in? I'm wondering about the technical side of all this now.

Oh, and as always, if you can't answer stuff, don't. :)

hmmmm...let me see

10-2001 (http://www.mouseplanet.com/archive/mouadvoct7-06.htm)

Your team 33 right? We were team 36 (I'm the short one, my husband the tall one). We're a boring...no name team. Oh and that is where I saw Kevin for the first time in ages, actually since grade school

Then there was

10-2002 (http://www.mouseplanet.com/mouseadventure/0210MAteamsb.htm)

We are team #25 and we had a name! Shocking! (loved your names and pics for this year team #3)

We missed the Spring events because...well...it turned out I was pregnant at the above MA date in 2001. Not sure why not the next year a fmaily thing I think. And then there was the break and no AP's for 2 years.

This year we have no name again :(

jdramj is "I'm Tink, not Stink!" at MP, and "Tink, not Stink" at FB and jramj at MC. I blew it with my name here and at MC and went with my yahoo ID. I should have gone TNS as I shortened it...you know like The Mystic knights of Oingo Boingo down to Boingo... ;)

I'll be glad to give a report of the opens happenings.....
