So this is a tad early, but we all know how long it takes for us to plan things. In the fall of 2007, the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach will be housing an exhibit titled Birth of the Cool (http://www.ocma.net/index.html?page=upcoming) (scroll to the bottom).

Birth of the Cool will look at the broad cultural zeitgeist of “cool” that influenced the visual arts, graphic and decorative arts, architecture, music, and film produced in California in the 1950s and early 1960s.

It's just screaming for a swanking.

Hehe, when GD told me about this I didn't realize it was fall of 2007. I was like "of course you should post it!" I thought it was this fall.

With a year-and-three-quarters lead time, I guess there's no excuse for not going...

I've joined their mailing list, hopefully that will be enough to remind me in 16 months or so.

It sounds like it will be a very cool exhibit (duh). Count us in on this one, no matter how far off in the future.
