I feel bad for the Coke Corner geeks.
According to Mouseplanet (http://mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl060117xx), Rod Miller is not coming back. He's had surgeries and such and been gone a while. He won't be back. Kinda sucks that he isn't doing a final performance.

I had a feeling this was coming and, when I heard rumblings that it was true I wasn't surprised. Whenever I see him walking, it makes my back hurt. I sure hope hecan be happier and healthier in a different "position".

Oh, I had a bad feeling about this, too. Waaaaaaaaah. I suppose there was a Coke Corner in some prehistory before Rod, but I don't see how Coke Corner can EVER be the same.
Of course, Coke Corner was Rod-less in Walt's Day. Heheh, one of my favorite things that Rod used to do was buck all the Disneyland rules and when the suits would ask who told him he could do that, Rod would reply, "Walt did." And that would shut them up, because they all assumed that Rod had been there since Day One (that's how much of a Disneyland fixture he is, er, waaaah, was.)
I'm so glad I was a Coke Corner geek in the mid-eighties. OMG, the fun we used to have there on weekend afternoons, and all the bizarro characters who frequented. Waaaaah, Bird Lady! Oh, and The Captain! I'm sad.
(oh, I'm old.)

This totally sucks. I hope he gets a window on Main Street. :(
It's a shame he can't even come back for one last song. Sounds like a good time for a Coke Corner meet in his honor.

Very sad, indeed. I only met him a handful of times but he always seemed to recognize Matthew and I and was always friendly.
Disneyland should do something to honor his years of service and let his fans say goodbye. I imagine a final performance would absolutely pack the place. I'm not holding my breath that they will do anything special, but they really should.

Perhaps they will do something in conjunction with the upcoming shareholders meeting.

I think I felt his absence when he was first gone for a long period of time, but as time went on, it seemed more apparent that he wasn't going to come back. We had the good fortune of running into him on July 16 last year and had a chance to talk to him for a bit, and it seemed pretty clear then that he wasn't going to be coming back. Coke Corner hasn't been Coke Corner for some time now anyway, so I'm not necessarily missing it.
