CHRISTIAN groups have launched a furious campaign against Hollywood, claiming the Golden Globe Awards promote films with gay or "leftist" themes to serve a political agenda.

My favorite snippet:

"Once again, the media elites are proving that their pet projects are more important than profit," Janice Crouse, of Concerned Women for America, said.

Heaven forbid the American media be more interested in art then profit.

My second favorite snippet:

"None of the three movies - Capote, Transamerica or Brokeback Mountain - is a box office hit. Brokeback Mountain has barely topped $US25million ($33million) in ticket sales.

"If America isn't watching these films, why are they winning the awards?"

Did I miss something that says the winners had to be blockbusters? (seriously, did I?)

These people have been Reintarnated several times over and have perfected the state of being an Ignoranus. Sadly, they only have use of the Dopeler Effect to try to foil us into believing they actually have something to say worth listening to.

For example, choose which of the top grossing films - if any - should have won a Golden Globe - of an Oscar for that matter.

Oh, and did we all remember that the GGs are a product of the Hollywood Foreign Press?

Maybe we should invade those places these foreigners call home in protest of their bad taste in morality.

Top grossing movies for 2005 in the USA (from IMDB)

Please note that these are the top grossing films that were first released in 2005; because they may have made most of their income in a later year, they are probably not the top grossing films for calendar year 2005.

The movie not being a blockbuster is so nitpicky! Many Academy Award winners weren't blockbusters either. A good movie is a good movie - that's all! So stupid and nearsighted.

As for promoting gay or leftist themes, I'm all for it! There's plenty of conservative religious crap that I have to listen too or watch as it is.

Shouldn't they be concerned about the violence in movies like 'Hostel' instead of the love that's in 'Brokeback'? Phooey on them.
