I dare you to eat this. (http://www.kidskuisine.com/asp/recipe.asp?recipe=104)

The ingredients make it sound fantastic...

Visually, really unappealing.
Is it me or does it seem that anything with a gross out factor of 10+ is super popular with kids of today?

Humm, not bad, not bad.... But you really need a touch of red-food coloring smeared on the tootsie rolls to give it that extra push...

I thought about making this for NYE. Then I thought better for it.

I've made that at least twice - maybe three times - I can't remember exactly. You really need to taper the points on a few for the realistic look. Also, I like to over melt one of the tootsie rolls and smear it over a portion of the box.

Is it me or does it seem that anything with a gross out factor of 10+ is super popular with kids of today? We had plenty of gross-out foods when I was a kid.

I think that this would actually be more appetizing in person - because of the smell. It would smell like a tasty cake, not a litter box, and I know I wouldn't have a problem eating it. But just looking at pictures....yeech.

WTG, Lash and Prudence! :snap:

Oh yeah - bonus points if you just happen to have some faux flies made out of modelling clay...

I too have made Kitty Litter Cake for a party. It was a meeting of the LA Cacophony Society and it was a HUGE hit!

I know I made it once for an "adult gathering" when I lived up north and once at work. My co-workers actually requested it again this year, although I was too busy to make it.

In an unrelated tangent - the phrase "tasty baby cakes" has crept into the teaching plan for my heresy class. I think of that every time I see this thread.
