So, I got a cold. I knew it was coming so I took lots of Airborn. I still got the cold, but it wasn't bad. Until I got Round 2. Now I have "the thing that won't go away but continues to hang around in my head and lungs and make ver exhausted all of the time". It refused to leave!
I'm not getting ANYTHING done that I need to do. I had a few things I had to accomplish today.
Walk 2 dogs and feed a cat
Do laundry
Get some REtroland stuff finished and in the email (since I am mui behind)What did I actually do?
Slept until 11
Did the animal thing
Came home exhausted
rested
read the board
coughed up a lung
ateNow I'm exhausted again.
This needs to leave my body NOW. I'm about to call a little old lady who is familiar with exorcisms.

If loving thoughts could make you well
And spare you from this croupy hell
If pretty wishes sent aloft
Could end your chronic whooping cough
Then you'd feel great instead of worse
Before I end this awful verse

You just think you're getting over it- if it's the same, insidious bug I've had since New Years, it'll be back.....

I have had the same cold at least every month already! I feel your pain. The fire here in the OC doesn't help the sinuis or the eyes either!

I don't know about where you are, but there's a lot of stomach flu, and pneumonia happening in my area.
I'm taking my vitamins, and hoping that the fact that I get exposed to everything has built up my immune system. At least it's not snowy or on fire here.

I am slowly crawling out of my snot-filled hell. I'm still coughing quite a bit, but I wasn't dizzy and zombie-like all day. I hope that means I'm getting better. I just want energy!

NA, I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with being sick. Forever. I know you have such a full life, you don't need this!
Matterhorn Fan, I was wondering how you were doing. Being exposed to so much maybe is keeping you well? Hmm.
Well, I also have had something for months. Last year I said 'Oh, it is all of the rain'. Well, that isn't the case this year.
My poor son is so sick. He hasn't shaken his congestion but the doctors say it is allergies. He goes to camp in a couple of weeks and I worry he will be screwed. He comes home from school and sleeps.
I had the flu and still feel dizzy. I only was 'down' for a day and a half. Not that I felt better but I had kids to chauffer around.
What is up?? Go out, get sick. Stay home, get sick. What to do???
I hope you feel better soon.

I'm just getting over a very sexy throat & ear infection. It was awful. I couldn't swallow (insert joke here) and I had trouble even hearing sound with my right ear. My Ipod was like murder. I'd listen with just one earbud. :(
I wasn't alone. My coworker was sick with the same thing. I took time off only to go to the doctors and get me some mmm....amoxocillin! And Sudafed is my best friend.
But, it did the trick. And I'm back to swallowing (food, people, food. ;))
Get well, sickies! :D Hugs!

Well, I broke down and went to the Dr on Friday. My upper respitory sucks. Or, rather, doesn't suck much. They put me on a breathing machine for a bit which didn't do much, perscribed anitbiotics and an inhailer and are getting me a referral for a allergist. Whoo hoo! Needles!

This sucks, however. I'm so sorry you've been feeling so crappy for so long

Aww, I promise it's not so bad. I went through 5 years of allergy shots as a child. I had horrid allergies, hay fever and was born with asthma (which I outgrew). I would have some wonky allergy attacks! :(
It's been many, many years, but if I recall correctly..
I began with 2 injections a week. Eventually you're weened to once a week, once every other week and so forth. You are injected with various, mild allergens, in order to boost your immune system. After the shot, your arm immediately begins to swell, leaving you with a nice, hot "goose egg" on your arm. I would have to wait 20 minutes, have the lump checked, and then free to go! The lump begins to cool and deflate within the hour.
It's not as bad as it sounds. In fact, while I still suffer miserably with sinuses, I can enjoy going outside and traveling. I can go through Spring without dying. Best of all? I can have pets! As a child, I could never be around kitty cats. :( I would even have trouble with some (gasp!) puppy dogs. After shots? Bring on the kitties and puppies! I still will occasionally have a little trouble around new animals, but I adjust quickly, THANK GOD! I couldn't live a life without animal friends. I was able to have my late beloved & darling fluffy kitty cat, Truffles, when I was in my teens and twenties, and of course my late beloved & angelic snow pea labbies, Doc & Sam. It would kill me to never be able to snuggle with a sweet, fuzzy baby. :(
And, you'll be a needle pro. You'll never fear 'em again.
I'm not sure if allergy shots was what you meant by your post, but I thought I'd offer the advice just in case! :)

Ally, aw, that all sounds so hard to deal with! You are such a chipper person, glad it didn't burn your spirit out!!
GD~ umm...that sucks. Is this your Frisco trip? So, thank goodness not such a long flight? Hope you get to stay a bit and perhaps feel better before your flight back?
NA, Glad about your boobage coming out clear. :snap:
I was invited to do an allergy study. Hey, they pay well, stick me with a needle if you are going to pay me well. Normally I just get an eye rolling over my pissing and moaning over the pain.
And, I finally took my son in. He had been sick, geez, forever. They said it was allergies all this time but I really felt he needed a kick in the nose with some antibiotics. Todays doctor did give him some as well as some prescribed antihistimines. He seems to be doing fine. Scary with kids, you never know how they will react to meds. Glad I have him for a few days with them~he goes to camp on Monday!!! Wah!! and Yeah! at the same time.
I am hoping, Lisa, that your meds have kicked in and you are doing better. I've been sick for a long time where I almost forget what it is to feel well. I think my son is there now. He has been ornery and rude. I don't like it. But, I know he will become his normal grouchy little old man after the meds kick in. This I can deal with. :D
Enjoy the weekend, supposed to be warm. Then rain is to kick in next week. From what I've read.......

Well, I've been doing quite a bit to take care of myself lately. I have had allergy tests (pokey x 2 on my back) and found I am NOT allergic to cats and dogs (WHEW!!!!) but am allergic to dust mites and cockroaches. Nice. I bought a Living Air air purifier yesterday so let's hope that helps a bit. Meanwhile, I am taking steroids in pill form for allergies and I had steroids injected in my feet for my plantars faciatis and I start physical therapy on that next week. Meanwhile, I will look like Lou Ferrigno next time you see me. ;) My new Chiropractor is great and putting me through the paces.
I'm feeling better already. It's about time!!!!!

I've been whalloped by Bronchitis and a severe respiratory infection. It seems to be going around, and it lasts FOREVER. Today is the first day I've actually gotten up. I've been home sick since LAST MONDAY. I don't remember ever being this ill in my life.
Lots of coughing, fever, loss of voice, sometimes throwing up. :( Thankfully, my doctor has me on lots of meds. Prescriptions & over the counter. But even my trusty Sudafed doesn't seem to be working. Although Mucinex (such an icky name) is pretty amazing. Has anybody else tried it? And good ol' Tylenol always works wonders.
It's just a struggle to breathe. :( I hope if anybody else is sick they feel much better! This is neverending. I've been in bed 24/7. Thank GOD for DVD sets! I've rewatched almost all six seasons of Sex & The City and am now onto Charmed. :)
