MousePod 2.3 - Fantasia
This week we take a look at Fantasia. One heck of a bridge between a wooden boy and a flying elephant.

I hope you enjoy this show. If you're listening, you'll recognize that the contributors are very LoT-centric. That's by design. I really dig being a part of the LoT, and I want to make sure that everyone here who wants to contribute gets a chance.
Having said that, I need a Disneyland expert this week to talk about Dumbo. Here's the twist - I plan on recording the segment this Saturday afternoon in Fantasyland (my secret's out, guys) - so if one or more of you want to step up and be immortalized in digital audio, here's your chance.

Once again, I sounded much better than I thought I did. Great podcast - I'm working through it still.
Things I forgot to mention:
Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Freeze (all I wanted to say was "these have nothing to do with Fantasia")
The fact that Fantasia has been referenced in parades in the past
Ah well, it still sounded really good, and I credit Mousepod entirely.

Will the Dumbo recording be made while actually riding the Flying Elephants?
If so, I'm in.

Y'know, the only call-in I actually made to the MousePod on July 17 was while riding Dumbo. It should be a tradition.
...and iSm - major snaps to you.

I love Fantasia (hence my nom snowflake)
I don't have an iPod or mp3 player yet, can I download and listen on my PC? I know this is a dumb question, but I'm a podcast virgin.

Yes, it's just an audio file, you can download it and listen using whatever media player you have.
Or you can even burn it to CD (assuming you take the time to split it into a couple tracks, 'cause it's too long for one CD).

You know, I've listened to 80% of the show and, while long, is really engaging! Great job, all!

Or you can burn it to MP3 CD and put it on one (but this requires that you have a computer you can listen upon, or a CD player that plays MP3 CDs.)

Damn! I've only been able to losten to an hour of this. I'm so distracted that I can't do my job and listen! Hence, my desk is backing up like a sewer!
Copying it to my thumb drive now to listen to the rest at home! This is fabulous! OMG, I have so much catching up to do!
:snap: To you Jesse and to everyone who helps, comments and contributes! I'll be watching Dumbo this weekend in preparation.

Pretty funny that zapp was introduced but never spoke, did he? Fittingly, Zapp's one contribution was to pipe up with the correct release year (1940).

Well, Jesse edited the introduction where Zap said he was just in the car when it drove here (or something like that).

Of course, how could I forget that :)
I was so happy that iSm joined me in completely screwing up the release date ;)

...that reminds me. There's a certain mega-Disney fan whose voice is sorely missing from the current volume of MousePods. I understand how busy he is, getting promoted every 10 minutes or so, but I hope he knows how much he is appreciated and missed.

at Disneyland, the original "Fantasy On Parade" during the Christmas season featured several scenes from Fantasia, including balerina hippos that danced with crocodiles, sychronized dancing ostriches, and Mickey in his Sorcerer's Apprentice costume leading marching brooms that carried buckets of water.
oh i forget to mention the dancing mushrooms were in that parade as well. (much the same as PotS)
i wish i could share some images of it with you.
miss you too J!

It probably violates his ToE to participate in the anarchic podstuff. Bah.
(anyway, i'm more tickled by the fact that zapppop whispered the release date in my ear instead of saying it out loud. We had to prompt him to speak up with that important kernel of information. He's so cute.)
