As usual when passing the old Fantasyland Skyway stop, we looked up and sighed...and noticed a bunch of Mickey balloons tied there. As a bunch of balloons is the internation sign for "PARTY OVER HERE" we were definitely intrigued. Just then a couple CMs let themselves into the gate. One was carrying a very large sheet cake. We were able to see that the cake had a "frosting printer" photo of some old dude, as well as a frosting printer paragraph. There was no big "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Retirement", just this huge block of text, so I have no clue who the guy was or what the event was about. I mean, who wants to stand next to a cake and read this guy's freakin' life story anyway?
So here's what I want to know - how much does that cost?? Because if there's a chance I can have a party in an extinct attraction, then hell yeah!!!

I actually looked into the "private party" in Disneyland idea recently (before deciding on another event ;) )
Special events inside the park during normal operating hours can be anywhere from $20 per person up into the $100's depending on what you want (ie bands, characters, fancy food..) and how many people you plan to bring.

Well, I wish they would turn that into something like a coffee shop. That would be cool!

In all the times I've worked on renting space at Disneyland, I've never seen the Fantasyland Skyway tower listed as an available venue spot.
That said, if someone was willing to throw enough money at the issue, just about anything is possible.

We've always said the same kind of thing, and I figure if I ever had the the chance to throw a party there, it would be an "Annual Passholder Coffee Lounge" party.
As long as it remains wheelchair inaccessible (and there really is no room for a wheelchair ramp) I doubt they will ever reuse that space. I am just surprised that they have yet to tear it all out.
(I can not use contractions since my apostrophe key just went weird all of a sudden.)

It could have been some kind of CM retirement party or something. That would be my guess.

Yeah, that's what we thought as well.
Assuming that this was over the weekend I can confirm that the only request for mickey latex balloons (other than the pre-parade) was for a CM retirement party.
Although I sure hope they cleaned up the place a bit since the last time I ventured up that way. Saying that It wasn't exactly in a very party-friendly condition would be an understatement.
