This might not be the proper forum, but this has been bugging me for two days now and I have to let it out.
I watched the premier of this season's Apprentice. The "book smarts" team named themselves "Magna," after magna cum laude.
The standard ranking of graduating honors starts with "cum laude" at the bottom, "magna cum laude" second, and "summa cum laude" at the top.
That puts "magna cum laude" as....second place.
They named themselves after second place.
AAAAARRRRGGGG! What maroons!

The funny part was when "net worth" the high school team grad won!! What was their burger called?
I missed the board room scene, so who got fired?

The HS team wisely chose the western burger.
The CG team chose the 3 cheese burger.
I was glad to see the PM from the CG team get fired. He seemed to think that learing fast food (and possibly getting his hands dirty) was beneath him.
Danny needs to go soon...he is just waaaaaaaaay out there.

According to nbc.com they aren't going to rerun the episode.
You didn't miss a whole lot, just a lot of bickering.
The thing that bugs me the most is the language used by the HS team.

After watching the show, it somehow seems strangely prophetic.

I'm surprised that Danny actually did something useful. Actually, I'm surprised that what he did turned out to be useful. Then again, I'd rather sleep in my car than stay at one of those dives.
I'm astonished at how self-unaware some people can be. Here's a clue -- if EVERYONE says you suck, you should probably consider that maybe, just maybe, they're right.
Also, learn to prioritize.
And please, for the love of all that is holy, if you are a woman, please do not have a weepy breakdown on teevee. Thanks so much for reinfocing stereotypes.
