So I'm at home today with BT who definitely has cellulitis and most likely (doc says 99% sure) has a blood clot in his leg -- and if so will be heading into the hospital this afternoon. So, if you have a spare moment for a happy thought and could wing one this way it would be appreciated.
We go for the ultrasound at 3:20. Oh sure, it's potentially life-and-death, but we're too busy to see you until late afternoon.

Crap! I have several friends who had blood clots in their legs- it's treatable, but very painful and dangerous. Sending my strongest positive vibes westward- tc!!!!!!!

Damn! Well, here's to the joys of waiting for hospitals to hurry up and some good thoughts thrown in for a fast and easy solution. I'll be thinking of you both as the day progresses.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Copper kettels? Brown Paper? Man whoever wrote that really needs to get an Ipod or a PS3. :D

BT sends his thanks, as do I. He would like me to add that his leg really hurts. (Foolish boy thought he'd try and take a shower...) We're heading off to the ultrasound in about an hour.

Okay, we're finally home. So here's the update:
First, the ER doc is an idiot and it's not a clot. However, it is a very serious infection that is growing quickly, thanks to stupid ER doc who didn't treat it last night. They needed to give him IV antibiotics, but couldn't get a vein to cooperate so they had to stab him in the butt. I have to take him back for another stabbing tomorrow. Apparently it's bringing back memories of boot camp for him...
So, keep some happy thoughts that the infection starts to receed and they don't have to chop off his leg or anything. He's lousy on crutches.

I'm glad it wasn't a blood clot, and I hope the anti's kick in and do their thing fast! Sorry about the butt poking there, BT.

Sounds like you are on the right road. Tell him to keep his chin up go out there and break a leg...
Err, oh wait that might not be the best expression to use in this case. :D

Grrrr for the misdiagnosis. Happy thoughts for a quickly healed infection.
And legal advice to pin it all on Disneyland's poorly-trained Matterhorn CM. :iSm:

Yikes! I was wondering if that was related.

You know, it is the same leg and I am still mighty cheesed off....
He feels a little better today, although now he's had a shot in the other cheek so he's not too happy about that. You still can't see his ankle bones - still too swollen. PA (apparently better than an actual doc who has no clue) says it looks a little better, but not great yet so he has to go in again tomorrow. Nothing major, but they want to make sure they actually kill the infection and not have it turn all flesh eating. He might get another shot if needed.

I've had cellulitis and it's no fun. I was hospitalized the last time (I've had it twice) with some hefty antibiotics to get rid of it. They scanned me for a clot at the time too, but there was none. I hope he's feeling better soon, I know how it feels!

And one more shot in the butt this morning, because it's just so much fun! And things look better in threes. He is a cranky cranky boy today.

OOOH! Sorry to hear this and be late with the good vibes and well wishes for a speedy recovery.
May the antibiotics kick in soon so he won't have to have any more shots in the posterior.
