Hey everyone, I received a PM from scaeagles that he is getting ready to go into surgery soon. I just wanted to pass this along so that we could all send some positive vibes his way.

Leo, I wish you a successful surgery, with no complications, that will hopefully fix the problems that have plagued you for so long. I also wish you a speedy recovery and strengh for your family. We are all thinking of you.

I hope the Doctor
can cure your sphincter
so you're chipper
next time you banter
and for dinner
you can eat more than chowder
and can use your hard-earned toaster.
Hope you're better

Hey everyone, I received a PM from scaeagles that he is getting ready to go into surgery soon.

Well, I'm going in tomorrow morning. 5:30am. I just told him "soon" because I was going to be out this evening and didn't think I'd log on tonight, but I can't sleep.

Thanks for the good vibes. The way I figure it is that they can't make me any worse, right?

MBC, the meaning of a "private message" is that it is, well, private.:p

Why do I keep thinking it should have been spelled "a thing of the passed" ? Or... yeah, I'm just strange today...

Well wishes, and stuff!

03-11-2006, 10:37 AM
Once again I feel the need to correct you all on which aphincter I hgave problems with, but what's the point?:) No, blueerica, "passed" would not be the better term to use.:)

Well, I'm back, obviously. Came home this morning. Procedure went well, or so they tell me. I seem to be hurting a bit more than I did with my similar surgery last April, but it is manageablr with the percoset, which I just had a little bit ago, so I'm drowsy but OK. I'd slepp, but I'm sick of being in a reclined position. Although I may just keel over, cause that stuff sure does make me sleepy.

Surgery took about 6 hours. I have 6 nice new holes in my belly, ranging from 1/2 inch to 2.5 inches. They exended the cutting away of the muscles around the esophagus both higher and lower on the esophagus (referring to what it was fter the firdt), redid the altering of my upper stomach anatomy that had herniated above my diaphragm, and separated my liver and esophagus that had kind of fused together with scar tissue after the first surgery.

Thanks for the well wishes and happt thoughts. I'm afraid I won't be catching up on the 439 posts since my last vsit for a while. I actually had expected more than that to have to catch up on.

Thanks again.

I had to resurrect this thread to talk about the mother of all typos I made in a work related email.

I basically telecommute as an independant contractor to a place in Sunnyvale, CA, that has a large population of Asians who are ESL. A person over there I work with told me this morning about what happened last week.

I sent an email out last Monday, when I was on LOTS of drugs, which included this phrase - "As Sheldon and Ron were discussing prior to my leave....". Well, when I typed "discussing", I transposed the S's and C's, and typed "dicsuccing".

Well, this email turned up in a meeting over there where an ESL Asian was reading it. She read it as "As Sheldon and Ron were dick sucking prior to my leave....". She then paused and said "What is the word dick sucking? I do not know it."

It was all everyone else could do not to just die laughing.

Fortunately, they all know me and no one took offense. I have never had a typo turn out so funny.

Hmmm, less conservative ... more accepting of his homoerotic nature .... I think I like Leo on drugs. (though that was hardly going to be in doubt ... I think they bring out the best in everyone :iSm: )

Oh, and yes ... I laughed outfreakingloud at your typo.

I didn't hesitate. The only problem I'm having is that it still really hurts to laugh, so I'm in immense pain when I think about this, not to mention while I was posting about it.

I wonder if Reader's Digest would accept this as a humorous story for their "All in a Day's Work" section?:)
