Hey boys and gurls, May 5, 2006 will mark the anniversary of the 50th Year Celebration at Disneyland. On Saturday, May 6th - the second year of the 50th Year will begin! Will July 17, 2006 be Disneyland's Second Fiftieth birthday? Or would that be it's Fifty-Second birthday? In all this confusion, it won't simply be the Fifty-First.

This is the first time that a Disneyland Anniversary celebration is continuing for a second year.

:snap: Let's meet up at the Park to enjoy all the cool decorations that by rights should have come down the night before. We can bow before the Sleeping Beauty Castle crowns that turned out so much better than we'd feared. We can look once more at a few of the thousands upon thousands of individual photos that make up the photo murals that we've taken for granted. We can update our count of the 50 Fifties to figure out if, with various comings and goings, the total remains at 50 .... or are there now 51 for the 51st year of the 50th year?

 Let's camp out at the castle to oooh and ahhh at 'Remember' - the best fireworks show Disneyland has ever had ... and be glad that we have it for few more months when by rights it should have disappeared overnight.

Details to follow. But mark this date. Saturday, May 6, 2006. Kick-Off the 2nd Year of the 50th Year!

(A few dollars a week from now until then will allow for upgrades to non-blocked-out APs. Stop missing the good stuff.)

And y'all better take some damn fine photos to entertain the rest of us!

(Oooh! look for me in the steamboat willie mural on mainstreet! I'm actually near the bottom, so it's possible!)

That's the weekend between our two birthdays, so it will depend on what grand and glorious plans we have to celebrate.

Ooooh, but it would give your Disneyland friends an opportunity to fete you both for both your birthdays, and shower you with plush or a big fig or something you've been dying to wear from the WoD "vintage" line of quality clothing!

What is a geek quest?

It is an attempt to ride all the attractions in the resort in chronological order. It was last attempted by Flubber, Techie7, and myself on the day of the last Pirates Premier when the park opened at 6:00AM.

At that time we had to switch to do reverse Chronological order because of the phased closing of the park to make way for the premier. While we were able to ride all open attractions a number of attractions (Main Street Ride Vehicles) were shut down to accomodate the red carpet. We also suffered huge delays when Johnny Depp made his enterance while we were trying to get to the Main Street Cinema.

We were hoping the 50th would bring some sort of 24 hour/extended hour party to attempt it again will all attractions opperating, but the lack of party and excessive crowds have thus far prevented another attempt.
