The adventures or misadventures of the Warner Brothers, Yakko and Wakko and the Warner Sister, Dot, who were so crazy that the studio execs locked them away in the water town at the studio. The witty slapstick humor with pop culture parodies and cartoon wackiness is on DVD for the first time ever with 25 episodes. We had the scoop (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4475) four months ago that Animaniacs - Volume 1 would hit the streets on July 25th. And the set is even more impressive than we thought at the time! It's a 5-DVD compilation of 25 episodes...750 minutes of Yakko, Wakko and Dot for $44.98 SRP. Video is full-screen, as originally shown. Audio is English, with subtitles in English, French and Spanish.
Besides the episodes listed below, you'll also get "Animaniacs Live!", where comic Maurice LaMarche hosts an in-studio style interview via satellite big screen TV with Animaniac friends as they comment on the Steven Spielberg's classic animated show.

My one concern is the song "Be Careful What You Eat". The original lyrics at the end were altered after the show switched networks.
The original lyrics were:
We like sweet allot
So give us all you've got
And we'll shove them in our bodies
Til they make our insides rot
The alternate lyrics (which I believe were also on a CD release) are:
We like sweets allot
But they make your insides
So please take care of your body
Cause it's the only one you've got
I hope this DVD release has the original lyrics.

OMG. It's going to be hard to resist this. Is 25 episodes a full season? Something tells me it's not, and that means there will be a lot of sets to buy.
At the very least I'll Netflix 'em for old time's sake.
One of GD's first gifts to me was a Wakko doll. :)

Wow! What great news! As long as these DVDs also contain some of the other 'toons, like Good Feathers, Chicken Boo, Buttons and Mindy, and Slappy Squirrel, it will be a great collection. Thanks for the info, zapppop. Narf!

Very Arch Bishop: King Yakko, your throne.
Wakko: The throne? How do you lift the lid?
Dot: Since when do *you* lift the lid?

He asks allot of questions to find out what we think
He's Dr. Scratchandsniff, the studio shrink
He says "How do you feel" ?
We say " With our hands" !
"How do you stay together" ?
We use rubber bands!
" I want to know your psyche "!
There's two inside our skull!
" Now what would you call that " ?
A bi-psyche-skull !
He asks allot of questions to find out what we think
He's Dr. Scratchandsniff, the studio shrink!

Season 1 of 'The Animaniacs' is great, great stuff. 'Bumbie's Mom' is one of the best send ups of 'Bambi' ever.

CP and I were having a good laugh over Pinky's habit of saying, "Naaaaaaarf" in awe and amazement. Or, as I termed it, the "Narf of Wonder". Good stuff. I was also remembering that Pinky didn't always say narf. He "discovered" it in one episode. As I rembmer, he saw, or was thinking of, the name "Fran" and said, 'You know, 'Fran' backwards is 'narf'...Narf!" And he used it ever after.
Pokla dot?
Again?

As much as I loved Pinky and the Brain when it was part of Animaniacs, I wasn't crazy for it as it's own show. I can't wait to see some more goodfeathers. And, "and that was another useless fact!"

Little Miss Muffet.
Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet
And boy what a big tuffet she had!
If you're feeling insecure, just sit next to her
And then you won't feel quite so bad.
Thank you.

Animaniacs was cancelled after it's 99th episode & there are about 20-25 episodes per volume.
So expect a total of 4 volumes.

I am so happy that volume 2 is coming out. I heard the WB had finished mastering the second boxes and was ready to release them if the first ones did well, so I bought my sets on day one.
