I'm in the process of a website redesign and once I have it done I'm going to take my old site down and have the new one live elsewhere. I googled to hunt around for a possible hosting service and am completely overwhelmed by the choices. I'm needing some advice, beyond my friends here at LoT (if I need to go beyond LoT) anyone got some time to help me navigate and make a good choice?

I've been with geocities forever and would rather not go with a yahoo hosted account if I can find something more flexible with more space and more bandwidth. My only real requirement is that it would support Frontpage since that is what I am using to manage and design the new site.

We've been happy with our new host - I'd recommend staying away from our old host if you're doing anything involving a database

Our current host (Lunarpages) is great, it's cheap, and has a boatload of bandwidth and storage. Their tech support is knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive. I highly recommend it (and you can get to it through the affiliate link at the bottom of the LoT).

I'm going to be going with DreamHost (http://www.dreamhost.com/rewards.cgi?polystyrene) when I sign up. It was recommended to me by one of the programmers at work.

(the link is his referral link, it takes you to the home page though).

lunarpages is now the new host to my soon to be new and improved site.
A couple of pages are up if you care to see the redesign: my new site (http://www.rudolph-valentino.com) you can also see the old site too, which really sucked, but not as bad as the very first site I had up, that was horrible beyond belief and I am so glad it's not hidden on some online archive!

Once again, I am indebted to LoT and the swanksters who play here!

That he was! The nice thing in his dying young, like Monroe and James Dean, he always will be! ;-)

Thanks GD! Coming from you this is HIGH praise indeedy!Pfft, I'm hardly a design expert. VBulletin does 99% of the work for me, all I do is change a few colors. And the logo was the work of blueerica and Flubber. Even the LoT Swag logo that I "made" was appropriated from Ubergeek's button design.

I have had my site hosted with tierranet.com forever! They are not too expensive and are very reliable, and it is easy to upload your site. They have an FTP client with in their website if you don't have one you can upload from there.

I hope this helps!
