Here's a complete list. (http://www.oscar.com/nominees/nominees.html)
I'm sad that Kinsey only got one knod, but happy it is Laura Linney. But, YAY Johnny Depp for FInding Neverland.
I still have some films to see (and there are a few that I don't want to see on the list).
Also missing is Almodolvar's latest. :(

Phantom didn't make it into the Costume Design category?!?!?!
Where's Mrbillmurray?
Bo-oring! I can't wait to miss it!
No, wait ... I am interested to see how Chris Rock does as host.
Ahh, Idon'tcare.

I only really care about Portman and Owen winning.
And what they're wearing. Heh.
And, Tref, c'mon! Bill Murray *totally* deserved the award for Lost In Translation. Totally. But TLAWSZ? Really?
I really think there should be a category for Best Ensemble Cast. TLAWSZ would definitely deserve a win there. Or maybe even A Very Long Engagement, despite my mixed feelings about the movie.

You know, this is yet another reminder of how out of touch I am with the main stream entertainment industry. Here I was seeing all these films, having a great time, and it seems all the films I passed on get nominations. Yet instead of revising my to-see list, I still want to see A Very Long Engagement, Bad Education, And Life Aquatic, before any of the real contenders.
Le sigh...

I also want to see A Very Long Engagement and Life Aquatic, but I doubt the theatres around here will get them in the near future
I'm glad that three films didn't get chosen for best picture nominations: Fahrenheit 9/11, Phantom of the Opera, and Passionof the Christ.
Though I am a liberal, Michael Moore does stretch the truth a little too far, he should move on to different topics aside from Bush. Phantom was a disaster compared to the Stage version, it was a good film, but not anywhere near worthy of a Best Picture Nom. And finally Passion? Only popular because of it's hype I didnt find it to be a great film, I guess I should feel bad that I was the only one in my theatre not crying, but the film did nothing for me or my faith, you don't need to see a movie to help build on you christianity.
I am ecstatic that Finding Neverland and Lemony Snicket have gotten so many nominations. Though I am sure Ray will be sweeping the awards in its categories, I'm sure FN and LS will both get their fair share of awards. Both films have a worth soundtrack for the award.

Hrm. Two people each nominated in two different categories and for major awards. (Eastwood -- Best Actor/Director, Foxx -- Best Actor/Supporting Actor.) Will Eastwood get Best Actor so they can finally give the statuette to Scorsese? Will they give Foxx Supporting Actor over Actor because he they don't think he's paid his dues in "serious" film? Or will being nominated in two categories once again be the kiss of death, ensuring that they win in neither? Oh! Reality teevee at its finest!

Nah, too controversial. With him being gay, America just isn't ready.

It was Patrick, wearing the fishnet nylons and heels, wasn't it?
I knew America wasn't ready for that.
Best Actor is a tough category..
I love Don Cheadle, but Johnny Depp and Jaime Foxx did great jobs also...
Alan Alda is my Sympathy vote for supporting actor, it's his first.

Phantom didn't make it into the Costume Design category?!?!?!
I was upset by that at first, but then I wondered.... does it not 'qualify' as great many of the costumes were designed for the stage production?

 Would it be terribly unswank of us to set up a Stroup-styled Oscar pool right here on the LoT?
