For those not familiar with Snopes.com (http://www.snopes.com/), it is a web site devoted to digging into the truth behind urban myths and legends. If someone emails you a story that sounds just a got fantastic beyond reality, it is a good first stop in checking out the veracity (and there are other sites out there as well).

They have an entire site (http://www.snopes.com/disney/disney.asp?music=off) devoted to Disney stories, broken down into four catagories: Theme Parks (http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/parks.asp), the Company (http://www.snopes.com/disney/wdco/wdco.asp), Walt himself (http://www.snopes.com/disney/waltdisn/waltdisn.asp), and of course movies (http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/films.asp).

Most of this will be old hat to the people on this board (such topics as whether a private club exists at Disneyland (http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/club33.htm) or whether Walt is on ice (http://www.snopes.com/disney/waltdisn/frozen.htm)). But I did run across a couple of items I had never heard before (on the original video release of The Rescuers, there were two frames which included a topless woman (http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/rescuers.htm), and that Walt was an illegitimate child (http://www.snopes.com/disney/waltdisn/illegit.htm)).

Enjoy!

Nothing about the Red Long Johns - I guess that one must be true...

Perhaps you should start a campaign to get that onto Snopes. Tell enough people at the parks and someone's bound to email Snopes about it sometime or another...

Well, believe it or not, but the Disneyland Ambassador has heard about the red longjohns.

It's only a matter of time.

This might be a good topic for MiceChat
