I love this site and service. (http://www.last.fm)
It uses a program called iScrobbler and will upload and update my iPod and iTunes tracks. (it feeds of the "recently played" playlist. ) It will update multiple computers and iPods also. )
You can also link to your playlists.

You can also use their player to listen to others playlists, which come through as "Radio Stations"
There are forums, and you can have a journal and friends, etc.. but I don't use all that jazz.
Just thought some of you geeks might like it.

I second Uber. I've been using Last.FM for a few months now.
You can also use it for Yahoo music and other mp3 players.
But will it remind me to take my iPod out of the glove box in the car, which is where it has been for the last three weeks?

No, but if I need another one, I know where to look.
If you're willing to drive 400 miles to steal my iPod, then you deserve to have it as a reward for dedication.

I'm not sure I understand what it does exactly

I believe you have to sign up to see all of the tricks.
I choose not to sign up because, frankly, I'm sort of done signing up for various and sundry site - especially music sites. My taste tends to be too obscure anyways.

All the more reason to give it a try.. you'll skew their numbers... Plus, you get to show off all the swanky tunes you listen to!

But what does it do?!
blueerica

it lists your most recently played songs - or songs you listened to most this week.

You do not listen to music on your computer? Not usually.
I might like it if I could use it at work, but the firewall prevents any sort of fun. "Thank you for not smiling."

Ditto. I cant load anything that streams on to the work computer, dont want to bog down the memory with a music library...
So thats what the Pod is for....
But I have 10,100 songs on an iPod I keep on shuffle
It does not matter if it is on shuffle or not. It updates from the iPod once you connect it with the computer. It reads from your "Recently Played" tracks.

You would be surprised. Your music may not be as obscure as you think. It is a pretty hip site.

Yet you have a sig...

I think I'll give this a shot at home. Sounds interesting... (It also says I get a pony for signing up. I can't wait to eat that pony.) :D

I need to figure out how to cut down the number of last playeds.... hmm... not top priority, but some investigation later probably won't hurt.

So, taking a look at this site and signing up, I don't understand the upload and update part. How does it do that? How do I make it update my lists?

It even works for crazy people like me who don't like iPods (but have a ton of mp3/wma players)
