There's shortbread with chocolate?!?!??!?!?!?!?! Oh man, I need to modify my order, or accost the booth sales... or both..."All Abouts." You have to endure pithy little sayings like "Girl Scouts are All About Values" molded into the shortbread, but you get to destroy those pithy sayings in a delicious manner, so it's all good.

They usually sell them outside the Albertson's by my house. I need to run over later and see if I can snag two boxes each of samoas and thin mints. And if they aren't there, I'll drive by every day until they are.

I thought the "All Abouts" were just shortbread.

I went to look this up and found this:
Q: Can I purchase Girl Scout Cookies online?

A: For safety and security reasons, Girl Scouts of the USA's National Board of Directors adopted an online sales policy that reads in part:

"Sales on a Web site on the Internet* of any products sold in 'council-sponsored product sales,' such as Girl Scout Cookies, candy, nuts, calendars or magazine subscriptions, may not be conducted by anyone at anytime."

* "Sales on the Internet include online auctions, broadcast email messages, and/or posting on individual Girl Scout, troop/group or Girl Scout council Web sites."

Girl Scouts can use email to let family and friends know they are selling cookies. We suggest you contact your local Girl Scout council and ask for specific guidelines.

Is it just me or does this seem incredibly stupid?

If there's a shortge, surely someone here must have connections to the black market Girl Scout Cookies out there. They're called Gurl Skout Kookies. They're just as good. They have: Thinnest Mints, Carmel Deeelites, Penut Butter Patties and Selmas, Shorter Bread Cookies, Lemon Paste Cremes, Berry Iced Pintoes...

A couple of years ago, a Girl Scout approached me in front of a Von's in La Habra (at least I think it was Von's - I don't remember) and was looking really, really sad. Her head was down and she lifted a can and asked me, 'Do you want to buy some Girl Scout Nuts?'
'Girls Scout nuts?' I asked her. 'You got shafted.'
'I know. Our troop is trying something new.' she said looking incredibly embarassed.
I bought a can of peanut brittle or something from the table she was running with her mom. I don't remember ever eating it, it's probably still in the back of my friend's car...
I just thought that was totally funny. Girl Scout nuts. No cookies. Nuts.

Thank the God's I'm NOT dealing with Girl Scout cookies this year!

Last year I was suckered by Kat's pouty little lip and puppy dog eyes into being her Brownie troop leader...only to be enveloped into a nightmare with the evil woman that was my Service Unit leader! Arggh! Still gives me shivers thinking about it!

Cookie time is HELL for troop leaders! Argh!

But dang it...now I know NO one that's selling.

But if you do, buy the cookies! For many troops, this is the only fundraiser they will do. The troops acutally get a fairly good amount of money from each box, so it's worth every single calorie!

I ate all my Trefoils. I have none left. I blame the Girl Scouts for not pressuring me to buy more.

:( Still don't have the bulk of my order. Just one lonely, shrinking box of Samoas.

Oh sweet flaming Moses in a basket! I forgot that my *10* boxes (7 Samoas, 3 thin mints) are in the trunk! And I was wondering what to have for a late supper!

But are they made from real Girl Scouts?

Or perhaps baked up by lil Brownies chained to easy bake ovens in a sweatshop...

Hmmm.. does that mean GD finally got his cookies? And that he is no longer having to make do with CP's single box?

If so, then yes you're correct. ;)

My Brownie brought home 25 wonderful boxes of cookies...unfortunately all but 10 were for other people.

We had 1 lonely box of Samoa's and it was the first to go out the door....UGH! That DH...he sold our only box to someone else at work that forgot to order it. He's such a nerd! Now I'm down to 9 boxes..oh wait the kids cleared out a box of all abouts in one sitting...8 left. Oh crap, I forgot the DH opend the double chocolates.....kids got in them this morning, now I'm down to 7. Damn these go quick.

As I was walking to the car with my armoload of boxes last night, a random stranger stopped me and wanted to know if I would sell them to her because she hasn't been able to find any Girl Scouts. They're like crack, I tell you! And we'll do anything for the fix.
