I got this email today.

Hey,
It's me again. First, I want to thank those of you who have come out to see me when I've been in your city. You have shown up in tremendous force, making this my biggest book tour ever. It's been incredibly exciting and rewarding. Thank you. Seriously, thank you.

I love that so many of you have brought along my previous SPAM email, so that I could sign it. Please don't feel shy or weird asking me if I'll sign it -of course I will.

So tonight is my ONLY Chicago event. If you live in Chicago, please try and come!
And please forward this email to your Chicago friends. I lived in Chicago for a while and it's one of my favorite cities, and I want this to be like The Homecoming Concert in The Rose.

I will be at Borders Books and Music (store #101)
2817 North Clark Street,
Chicago. (312) 606-0931
7:30

I hope to see you there. I love you.

Augusten

Thanks for the tip. I managed to navigate my way through the "L" to get to the Borders which oddly was not the huge one downtown. He read one of his new short stories, Moving Violations" after making sure no small children were in the audience. He was a good reader and I was actually sad that this was more a signing than a reading - I would have loved to hear him read more.

The Borders was packed with mostly college aged girls, people in the program, and older gay men with a few odd ball demographics, like my own thrown into the mix.

It certainly was a fun unique way to spend an evening in Chicago.
