Oh we shall have to bring a variety of seeded foods to this one - and maybe some bubblebath

The Press Release is in! It IS the remake! I didn't realize it was Phillip Kaufman! (Quills, Henry and June, Unbearable Lightness of Being).

CINESPIA Presents:
INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS

Directed by Phillip Kaufman
Saturday, May 27th
Gates at 7:00 pm
Film at 8:30 pm
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
6000 Santa Monica Boulevard at Gower
No reservation necessary.
$10 Donation Tickets available at gate.
As a courtesy to other movie-goers: NO TALL CHAIRS!!

This 1978 remake brilliantly blends horror and sci-fi, with an all star cast and stunning special effects. Donald Sutherland stars as a health inspector who stumbles upon a mysterious epidemic...are strange clones replacing the human race?? Undoubtedly one of the most genuinely scary films ever made. Also stars Jeff Goldblum, Leonard Nimoy and Veronica Cartwright. Bring blankets, drinks and picnic dinner for this special screening below (and above) the stars. DJ Jun spins before and after the screening.

Hmmmm - I've never seen this version - but I love his other work. Is this a more erotic Body Snatchers?

€uro, there was another, more sexy remake in '93 (but it was kinda crappy).

This one actually scared the crap out of me when I was 12.

Film geeks: look for the ultra-cool cameos of the star and director of the original '56 version.

It's a great film, but not really erotic, per se.

I think the original would be more appropos for the cemetery location though.

I am feeling super tired and not so well... I really hope I get to go tonight, but I'm slowly shrinking back, just in case. :( My stomach is just all off from the start... :(

Well, it was fun to see this film for the first time ever, but the wind decided to pick up and it was FRILLING COLD! I've never been that cold at a cemetery screening before and I hope to never be that cold again. I actually couldn't wait for the movie to end so I could get in my car.

We had some new people join us last night and it was fun. Good times as usual.
