This morning I'm walking 3 dogs down Ocean Ave in LB. The floats are getting lined up for the start of the Long Beach Gay Pride Parade and I'm getting a fun little early morning preview.

Suddenly, something looked VERY familiar. It's the Main Street Fire Vehicle, parked and waiting in line right ahead of the float containing "My Big Fat Gay Drag Queens". Standing next to the car is the tall, thin, lanky CM I often see driving vehicles up and down MS. Behind the car is a really chintzy 3' tall maquette of Sleeping Beauty Castle (it looked like a school project to me) but it had rainbow flags sticking out of each of the turrets.

I turned the corner and spot one of the Disneyland Stage Coach vehicles being hooked up to a pair of pinto ponies. I also saw a Circle D trailer.

I didn't know Disney chose to have a presence at the Long Beach Pride Festival. Anyone else here go and see this? I don't normally walk with my camera and I had another puppy waiting for me so I didn't have time to go back and get pictures. :(

Hmmm, sounds like part of Disney's new SoCal Community Outreach program.

Last month's appearance of the Ripley train engine at the Fullteron Railroad Fest was the first time any engine of the DRR had ever been off-property (except for repairs.) It was a surprising move, but mayhaps the first of many.

And I appreciate their next Park Vehicle outting tacitly acknowledging that - at Disneyland - Every Day is Gay Day.

Oooh! Is that the guy that describes the wild speeds of three to five miles an hour?

Possibly. He's sort of "middle aged".

I'll have to rustle up a photo. If it's who I think it is, he's possibly our favorite cast member ever.
