I know more than a few people who will be sent to this page:

I'm definately sending to my mom & sister. If I get one more pledge of alligence petition or Bill Gates will send me money e-mails from my mother I'm going to loose it.

She's annoyed with me anyway because she clicked on the link in the sig line from my yahoo e-mail (you know how they attach their ads) and it didn't work so somehow this is my fault

I'm annoyed for you

I wish this was around a few years ago when I finally had to tell my mom if she didn't quit sending me junk and urban legends then I'd have to change my email address. It wasn't just the junk, it was her inability to use the bcc feature.

My mom has about 1k unread emails (no joke) that are mostly junk/fwds. My aunt sends them to her. My aunt wanted my email address and I told her no way, I see what she sends to my mom and she doesn't need to send them to me. She was miffed. Oh well.

So now I have my mom using the bcc when sending emails to her friends, stripping out all the previous headers and looking at Snopes before sending an urband legend on. My next step is to convince her that she's probably irritating the hell out of her freinds by fwding on the fwds.

I was trying to see if Thanks. No. was able to send the email or if you had to send it yourself.

I enjoy that website, it sure beats my system of e-mailing them saying.

Hello, Please don't send me useless forwards, the next time you send me one I'm blocking your e-mail forever.

Thank You.

I've actually had to send that, but it worked.

In a couple of cases, I've hit "reply all" to one of those, with a link to the appropriate page at snopes and a request to stop speading that junk around.

I haven't received more forwards from the people whose emails I've responded to like this.
