Judy Garland dies of a barbiturate overdose in her London apartment, either by accident or suicide. Quote from Judy: "When I die I have visions of fags singing 'Over the Rainbow' and the flag at Fire Island being flown at half mast."

Judy Judy Judy! She was such a firecracker. Too bad about the drugs. :(

The most heartbreaking quote I heard from her was on some doco about her life. It was from a recording and it sounded like it was near the end of her life...

"I wanted to believe and I tried my damnedest to believe in the rainbow that I tried to get over and couldn't. So what?! Lots of people can't..."

Many people believe that her death inspired the Stonewall riots. It occurred a week after her kicking the bucket. Grief turned to anger? I say it's possible...

I was 9 years old, had come home from a beach birthday party in Santa Cruz and saw the paper and wept and wept.

She's not dead. She lives with Elvis and JFK in a bunker under Graceland.

All the drugs she took aged her sososooo much. It is hard to watch documentaries on her life because she was still a young woman, but looked and sounded as if she were pushing 70 instead of 50. You can really see her weight struggle in Summer Stock more than her other movies.

You're totally right, she aged fast fast fast because of the drugs.

I thought she looked her best in 'Meet Me in St. Louis.' Wonderful film.

Ever hear that sound clip of her complaining that her ex husband called her a drunk, and she sounds drunk off her ass while she's ranting? Sad stuff.

I love Judy, but that woman had no butt.

I love Judy! I have the Judy Garland Show collection on dvd and many of her movies. She was so beautiful when she was younger. As you say then the booze and drugs took their toll on her. Liza just can't compare.
