Okay, as much as I hate to say I was completely wrong about something, I'm gonna say it now.
After months, and months, everyone on the planet was trying to get me to watch 'Arrested Development'. Everyone. My sister, people at work, Ralphie's sister and most of all our dear LushessStinkerClaireTaffybell. I resisted for so long. I just hate Rupert Murdoch and everything Fox (except King of the Hill and the Simpsons...) so I resisted...
Ahem.
Everyone was right. Claire was right.
It's a good show. I just rented it on Netflix for Ralphie and I'm completely hooked.
There. I've said it.
:p

Afternoon Delight was on the radio today and I totally busted out laughing thinking of the Bluth's karaoke. My friends thought I was crazy.

Bwahahaha!!! Told you so!!! :D It's so well written. I've seen the first season all the way through several times now and it just gets funnier. You don't get hit over the head with the jokes....sometimes they sneak up on you.
GOB and Amy Pohler's "marriage" cracked me up so much. They're married in real life. Amy Pohler is my husband's fantasy woman, while Amy Sedaris is mine. ;) I wish they'd bring her character back.....they never got divorced or anything, so why not?
I love Lucille Bluth. I had one of her quotes as my sig for a while....she's just so freaking funny. What a great character!! I love her and Buster. That relationship is hiLARious.
I'm so glad that Jason Bateman finally found the right show. He's so good. :sigh: I've loved him for so incredibly long.....
And I used to hate Portia DeRossi....hated her! She's got this terrible rep. from her Aussie days and can't take a joke (Kathy Griffin really pissed her off once). But dang, she's impressed me....she makes a fool of herself in every scene and she's so good at it.
Anyone remember Jeffrey Tambor as the crazy dentist in love with Teri (?) on Three's Company? Oh, you don't? Wellllll....I do. He's one of the first "funny guys" I remember from when I was younger. Don Knotts, John Ritter and Jeffrey Tambor. He's been in some CRAP over the years.....so glad he is in this show (was supposed to be a very minor part!)
Two more words: David Cross
Holy crap he's good as good Tobias. Every scene he's in, has me howling. I find that we repeat pretty much every single thing he says. It's all just so wrong.......
A bunch more words: George Michael and Mabey's relationship is the funniest thing ever. The kid who plays George Michael is really really good.
I'm glad you're watching, Brad!!! Toldya so!!!
And that's Ron Howard doing the voiceover.....I don't know how he does it without cracking up.

That show is so freaking awesome. There are a lot of jokes and hidden references to other episodes that I didn't notice until the second and third time watching season 1. Anyone know when season 2 is coming out on dvd?

Not soon enough. ;) They released Season 1 in mid-October, just before Season 2 began. I hope they do it again next fall.....or sooner!

There's this commercial for something like health care coverage that stars the guy who plays Buster. His wife is giving birth and he runs around the room trying to keep costs down by "helping out". It is SO WEIRD to see "Buster" look somewhat normal, yet he has all the weird mannerisms that are totally recognizable, including standing too close to people, his strange hand gestures, and his laugh. It's a kick! Have you guys seen this?

I also saw "Buster" (Tony Hale) in a funny little short film called "My Blind Brother" on IFC.

I've just blasted through the 1st disc of season 1. Hysterical. God I love this show! Wonderful stuff. The truck with the staris... truly funny.
A few quotes worth mentioning:
Lucille: Everyone's laughing, and riding, and cornholing except Buster.
-----------
George Sr.: Daddy horny, Michael
-----------
Lucille: [talking to the press about her husband] The media has him out to be some sort of mastermind, which believe me he's not. The man can barely work our shredder.
------------
Lucille: Oh, hello, Buster. Here's a candy bar. No, I'm withholding it. Look at me, "getting off. "
------------
Michael: [opens a bag in the fridge marked "Dead Dove, do not eat", closes it quickly] I don't know what I was expecting...

My son bought whatever season and had me watch one show.
It was so funny. I don't know if Martin Short is a regular or what but his character was so dead on.
Is this the show that is going to HBO or something like that?

Is this the show that is going to HBO or something like that? There were talks, but they didn't lead anywhere. As of now, it's dead and burried. :(

"Let's get the Home Builders Organization!"
"No, HBO won't take us."
"I'll just sleep here and watch the sunset."
"Won't it be in back if you?"
"Yeah, but I have the car mirrors. It will seem closer that way."
Dialogue this rich should come with warnings. All three seasons was absolutely brilliant!
I'm going to start over and watch the entire 3 seasons again.
