The little tramp.
I check my cellphone voice mail and it's my little sis:
"Hey, it's me. I was calling to check on you. I'm still in Cali. In fact, I'm at Disneyland right now. Call me."
In the background, I can hear Main Street music...
I'm ill. My little sister's at Disneyland... :(

Think how it feels when your daughter calls you to tell you she's having fun at DL with her friend and not only are you not there it is costing you your money.

Here's something to really get ya going: I could hop in my car right now, meet up with your sister, and still be home in time to go out to dinner as planned with the sis-in-law and her hubby to be. (See this thread (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/showthread.php?t=3861).)
Yeah, I can be a real bastard!

She just called me back.
"Where in DL are you?"
"Space Mountain."
"Outside or inside?"
"Outside. It's an hour wait."
"What FastPass do you have in hand."
"Splash."
"Did you ride Pirates?"
"Yes. It's so awesome, Brad. He looks real."
"I know. I heard."
"They put him in a box at the end. It's cool. I tried to take a picture for you but it's too dark."
"Thanks for trying though."
"Did you ride Big Thunder?"
"What's that?"
(You know, you try and raise them right and look what happens. 'What's that?!' I almost fainted.)
"The train ride through the mountain."
"Oh yeah, we did that already. Someone died on that."
"I know."
"Matterhorn?"
"Yes."
"Indy?"
"Yes."
"Good."
"We went to California Adventure, too. It's okay..."
"Did you see the fireworks?"
"Yes."
"Oh, we saw the Light Parade. My friends took my picture next to the dragon."
"Awesome."
"Fantasmic!?"
"Tonight. But it's really crowded tonight. We'll see."
"Don't forget to look for the new bride."
"New ride?"
"New bride."
"Haunted Mansion?"
"Yup."
"Cool. I'm so there."
"Alright, I should let you go. Go have fun!"
"I haven't been here since you took me last time."
"Yeah."
"It reminds me of you. Everything."
"Yeah, yeah... Have fun!"
"'Kay."
"Bye. Love you. Bye."
"Love you. Bye."
:)
I'm happy for her. She's having fun.

I thought about sending some LoTters out to find her, but I think I'll just let her be. She and her friends are having a great time. I'd hate for her to feel like big brother was pulling a Big Brother on her. :D
-----------
So, I have a bit of a confession for you all. And it helps for me to talk it out here...
I know we've talked about guilt in a couple of threads and I'm the King of Guilt and it's rearing it's head right now after her phone call.
In '89 or so, I went to CA to look at a couple of schools I was thinking about attending. Loyola Marymount, Chapman, UCLA etc. It was me, my parents and my sis, Jo. We stayed at the Ramada across the street from the park and promised her we'd go to DL during our week trip. She was such a trooper and didn't complain at all even after 5 days of no park.
Then we had an opportunity to visit an aunt who lived in Encinitas who could get us into Sea World for free. So my parents opted to go to SW instead. She didn't get her promised trip to Disneyland and we were across the fricken street for 5 days... I felt so bad about it then and I still do now. Horrible isn't it? I feel like I let her down after promising her a good time at the park. Then, trying to come up with a consolation prize, I told her we would watch the fireworks from the hotel balcony. We ran from our room to the closest balcony to the park to watch it. On the way, she fell and hit her head. And then, there was no fireworks 'high winds' or some crap like that. Ugh...
I feel like I owe her a trip.
I think if she threw a fit or cried, it wouldn't be as bad. But she didn't, she said she was fine. But I knew 100% that she wasn't. Ugh.
:( I'm feeling really sad right now. But I'm trying to be the trooper she is and suck it up. She's having a good time.

Sounds like you were an awesome older brother. And, as a younger sibling myself, trust me when I say, she knows.

Thank you, Greg.
I had a huge responsibility when I was 11 to raise my little sister. Our parents were not great parents. I think I took on way to much responsibility when I was so young. She's a really great person. I love her so much.
I did take her to each and every Disney film from 1983 to about 1994 or so. I'm proud of that.
If she read this thread, she'd totally go . :)

Where does she live?
She still lives at my parents house in Hawai'i. This trip she's on now started in Seattle, then to SF for Pride and then Anaheim.

My sister calls me last night to tell me more about her trip. She's back now at home. (Long trip...big brother arches his eyebrow at that...) She said, 'It was too crowded to see Fantasia, so we skipped it. I don't remember if I saw it already, though.'
Okay, Jo gets a grade of F from her brother. Not only does she call Fantasmic! by the wrong name, but she doesn't remember that her brother sat for 3 hours one day (in '94, I think) to save her a middle river front seat way back when. He sat on several jackets and sweatshirts while everyone else went to take a nap at the hotel.
I'm joking. I love my lil sis. I love my Disney Muggle sister.

I love my Disney Muggle sister.
:)
I hear you on that one, pretty much my entire extended family are D'muggles and prone to comments like "Why go all that way for Disney? We have a Sux Flags across town..."
My only hope lies in my beautiful FrontLiner who at age 10 knows which side of the Matterhorn is best, the jungle cruise is better after dark and that "CP is nice but that guy made me talk too much".... not bad for a kid raised on the east coast.
