In my search for better photo management software I started playing around with Picasa (I recall GD and CP saying something about it). I discovered their photo sharing tool called Hello. Does anyone have experience with Hello? Or Picasa?
I'm having trouble figuring out any features beyond import and export. Mainly I'm looking for a way to export a slideshow.
I'd really like to use Gallery but I need a domain to do that, and until I can come up with a domain name I'm limited in what I can do.

Ya, I have a flickr account and I am not too fond of it.
Thanks though.

I've realized that the problem with Picasa is that you will never catch up. Every time I add another 20 pics I realize I'll never take the time to add keywords to them. It's a huge job!
Having said that I love the program itself and wish I could feel more inspired to take advantage of it. Labeling photos puts me to sleep.

I love tagging. Photos, blogs, websites, search engine stuff. I love it all, and I'm good at it (self brag). I think it's in my blood.
I have to take the time to truly figure out Picasa. Or buy a domain and start using Gallery.
Be careful that wherever you buy hosting from (if you go that route) offers the necessary controls and PHP libraries for installing and configuring Gallery.
I too tried Picasa once upon a time (way back when Google first bought them) and it was just too depressing to be presented with 20,000 photographs that I knew I'd never get around to organizing other than by the folder they were in.
Flickr provides enough functionality for me though I'm not heavily into the community aspect of it so I use that. But it is klunky in many ways.

I've used Hello to share photos with people. Works great, but doesn't help much with organization.
Picasa's good. It's got some dumb user interface "quirks" that get on my nerves a little bit, but it does the job.

Thanks Alex. I'll be going with DreamHost if/when I go with hosting. My friend runs his site from them.
