AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUGH.

Now you.

What are you screaming about?

I am screaming about last several hours, which involved these things:

1) College loan foundation runs my check card as I pay off a hefty sum; calls me after third attempt to say "your card is being rejected, please call your bank." When I call the bank, they say, "hmm. They ran your card for the hefty sum twice, and that's why it got rejected the third time; you're significantly in the red." Need gas and have no money until the loan foundation faxes a request for reversal.

2) Mom injures herself (kind of blechy, behind the spoiler tag)
A skin tag (the little growths that pop up as we age) tore off and she didn't realize it until the blood had soaked through two pillows.

3) The origin of Mom's recent post-breast-cancer infection revealed a few hours later. (REALLY blechy, behind another spoiler tag.)
Her tumor was removed three years ago, from one side of her breast. This year, the other side of her breast became infected and extremely painful and we feared that the cancer was back. She's been in a lot of pain and the infection just hasn't gone away.

They removed a bandage today and stuck to it was a bit of surgical thread. "Hmm, that's weird." So they pulled... and pulled... it was FIVE INCHES of F U C K I N G SURGICAL THREAD, working its way out across the length of her breast from the side where she'd had the tumor removed. Her surgeon left it inside her when he closed up the tumor wound.

She said she could feel pulling along from one side of her breast to the other. AAAAAAUGH!

All of this, so great, since she's diabetic and has an effin' autoimmune disease... takes her months to heal a tiny scratch.

Malpractice suits are there for a reason, LS.

gah- no kidding

So sorry to hear that!

Financial institutions SUCK- my bank recently decided I wanted auto-pay on my car loan- problem is I never asked for it nor approved it. So I paid my payment- and they pulled another one. I went through hell with the auto finance people before my banker at my branch simply filed a complaint and got it and all the fees reversed. Later on I got a letter from auto finance saying they would not reverse the payment- what a shame, it's already fixed you dolts!

Hugs!

Sorry to hear about all of this, Heidi.

I just spent an hour at the post office explaining to them for the third time this month that no, I haven't moved. Seems they can't quite understand that so all the checks I was waiting for this week were returned to my clients.

Believe me, I sympathize. :)

Hope tomorrow is a better day and we will keep your mom in our thoughts.

I'm having a primal sream whist throwing myself a pity party.

My childs father said that when he bought the child a bike, he'd teach him to ride, and get his bike fixed so they could go riding together.
Here we are, a year later. No fixed bike, my mother and I are teaching the child to ride, and thier idea of a day together is playing video games all day, and not changing out of sleepwear or brushing their teeth till 2pm. (At least)

My mom thinks the child is getting heavy, and needs to lose wieght. And its up to ME to make the father own up to this fact. Hell NO.
But somehow, being the only one who leaves home at 7:15 to be at work by 8, gets off at 5, and gets home around 6:30 after picking up said child, I am the one who is supposed to find the time to excersize with the child.
The Dad doesnt see, Hey, I leave my house at 7:15, get home by 4pm, I could have some quality child time. No way... thats too obvious.

Dont even get me started on the fact that he told my mother he'd finish installing the rest of the electrical plugs in the house 16months ago, and has yet to come back! How do I know its 16 months? She keeps telling me.

Oh... AND.. she's daily telling me what is wrong with my choice in men. How they are all the same, have no ambitions in life except making dreams and schemes about money. (etc.)
The auditors are breathing down our necks, anotehr payroll is looming, I need to go to the dentist, eye dr, and ob/gyn, and have no time.
My hair is about to be two inches short, as if will help me feel like I made stressors go away.

I am desperatly in need of a calgon moment, but know damn well I have nothing to complain about compared to LSPE. Doesnt change the fact that I feel like I want someone to take care of ME.

Honey, I wish I could help and beat those student loan folks to the ground. Have a cupcake on me, diet be dammed.

Ohhh, no, Ponine. I didn't start a pity-LSPE thread! I started a "let's all scream together" thread.

And so, I scream at his dad and your mom in solidarity.

AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGH.

Ponine
08-08-2006, 02:12 PM
Its not as LSPE thread, I want to beat them because they were stupid, and it would feel good!!!!!
I'm throwing myself a pity party. :D

In truth, the dept admin aide just walked over to tell me they let someone bend the rules, could I please pay him,.. blah blah... I've had it. I'm infuriuated. And I took it out on her. I apologizied profusely, and the words just came rolling out.
How much the auditors infuriate me, how they need to lay off, that I am terrified of one of them, but they wont back off.............. sigh.
I need a coke. Or a cupcake. Or a pie to throw.

Gah LSPE!!!!!!!!!

I would call the bank and ask them if there is any way to get any of that money released back to you since you have none and it was the loan companies error. They should have stopped it the first time the company ran that amount twice in a row in such a short period of time.

I would like to scream at one of the managers here. It's a stupid reason, but damnit!

He plays with silly putty. If I'm in his office on a conference call, he plays with silly putty. He picks up every thing he can get his hands on and makes imprints in the putty. He squeezes it, he sculpts it, he sticks it to cabinets. Today, he tried to take in imprint of his stupid "Easy Button" (you know, from Staples, the ones that say, "That was easy" when you press them). The phone wasn't on mute. The whole freaking conference hears "That was easy".

AAAAAARGH!!! You're a freaking manager?!?!?!?!

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!

The bank should be able to clear this up for you. I'd start complaining until they tranferred me to a supervisor, manager etc.

Dinglecheese banks.

Sorry about the madness going on around your mom. I will send positive vibes your way.

I'm changing jobs. Agreed to work 80 hour weeks for three weeks to finish up a project for my clien prior to my departure. No problem.

However, the users have since decided that since I'm moving on it is time to finally take a serious look at 10 or so various projects that I've completed for them that they never reviewed. And they want changes. Lots of them.

WHY DON'T YOU JUST REVIEW THE STUFF WHEN IT IS SUBMITTED TO YOU FOR YOUR APPROVAL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Oh well. They'll have to wait. At least I'll have some nice side income for several months.

Thankfully it's not on my own computer.

Oh and ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG.

I love my job. I really do. It is amazing and the company is amazing. But...

No, you cannot have a new computer and every time you ask me it will take me an extra week to get it to you. No, I am not kidding. Now back the F off.

Thank you.

At work, Google thinks I'm some sort of virus. It gives me an error message with each search and says "Your search words resemble an automatically generated heebamawhatsit... please download virus amathingy or spyware amawhojits." Weird.

ARRRGH!

First I put in "Time Magazine". I was looking for a cartoon I saw online. I got the error message.
Then I put in "Time". I got the error message.
Then I put in "Dean Scream". I tried to find a link to a story I read about his scream being altered. Error message.

So it seems like anything I put in I get this message. It gives me an error page and then gives me a word that's all wavy and tells me to type it in and then it'll send me to my results page.

Bleh.

So, as I was leaving work, I ran a Norton anti-virus thing and let it run. It was scanning my whole computer and looked like it was going to take hours to do so...

Google does that to prevent what they see as automatically-submitted search queries--presumably in pursuit of search engine optimization or click fraud--but I can't find the reference right now. There should be, somewhere on the page where you're asked to enter the CAPTCHA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha) word, a link to report that you are not a robot.

Edit: Found more info (http://www.spy.org.uk/spyblog/2005/06/stupid_google_virusspyware_cap.html) on what is happening. I suspect that if it's not your computer, it's another one on your company network or possibly your company's upstream provider.

The CAPTCHA word comes up but it only permits you to go to the results screen you were supposed to see. It doesn't prevent the error screen from coming up again. It would be nice if you only had to do it once and then they would allow you access again.

Count me in the malpractice suit vote column. That's godawful!

In addition, I would be SO on the bank's back over the error. 24 hour, two week, two days are not acceptable responses into reversing the charges. Reversed, and NOW please, thank you.

Andrew,
The virus check found something that was installed on my computer and got rid of it. Now Google works fine. :)

A situation update:

It has been brought to our attention by my sweet and resourceful medically-knowledgable mother-in-law-to-be that surgical thread dissolves. She is of the opinion that the foreign object left in my mother's surgical wound was a SURGICAL SPONGE, which has about five inches of thread attatched to it so that they can pull it out.

And if that's true, my mother is going to have to have another surgery to remove the sponge.

Greeeeeeeat.

Oh, at the very least.

But here's the latest update: she'll probably be in the hospital shortly, anyway. Normal platelet count is between 350 and 500 for women. With her autoimmune disease, she is usually between 70 and 100.

Today her count is 9. So that bleeding yesterday? That was from her internal bleeding.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAUGH.

So a librarian from the 7th layer of hell screamed at me yesterday at the end of the day.
I passed it off to a supervisor today, who called her back, told her the same thing I did, then a little later she came in, and the admin aide told her the same thing for a 3rd time.

And yet she's still getting a check, I feel like a failure, and she treated a whole chain of people terribly. (yes, the details of WHY she's a demon from the 7th layer of hell are being witheld)
Yet she gets rewarded with a paycheck, and I get to keep being told that I need to not take it so personally.
God damn it, its too farging late for that.

No, I'm sorry for being a bee-yotch from her, no, pat on the back are you ok from my super, no hug kiss on the cheek, no conversations to change the topic, just more... Dont react that way, dont do that, dont say thats what you're gonna do.

I am TIRED of the people that act like demon incarnates getting the good treatment in the world. I dont care, I know everyone thinks I should buckle up, not be nice to them, not listen to them, etc...
I DON'T CARE.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrggggggggggggghhhhh

Heidi, I can't believe what is going on with you Mom! Are they Doctors involved in some sort of torture experiment? Are theyall drunk? WTF? What is going on is COMPLETELY unacceptable. I'm so mad right now, I could take them all on myself and kick their collective behinds to the moon. But, I think my energies would be better placed in hoping for a good outcome and resolution.

Thanks for your support, guys. But wait. There's more. (I realized I hadn't updated you once I got a sweet PM checking in on me-- so I'll post part of my response here.)

Mom's doctor and his team were complete assholes yesterday. They told her she could come into the office for an appointment on Friday. She freaked out on them (rightfully) saying she demanded to talk to the doctor.

When he finally deigned to get on the phone, he told her that he refused to believe that she dropped 100 points in a week's time, and he was going to send another nurse out for a blood test today.

He said to take the same low-dose steroid she was on. She didn't listen to him, thankfully, and took 6x the normal dose (which he'd told her to do in the past when she was low.) And after her test today, she'd only risen a whoppin' 2 points. She's got internal bleeding bruises (petichae) all over her body, and STILL the doctor-- who's the only blood specialist in town-- refuses to see her until Monday.

SO aggravating.

But she's making jokes about their stupidity and dosing herself however she thinks she needs to be dosed (after 10 years, she's better at it than the doctors) and provided there isn't some kind of additional infection or something causing this drop, she should gradually climb to a better level. God damn those doctors, though.
