I am wow'd, speechless and turning red all at once.
I mean why didnt one of US think of this, and why arent WE making the money from it.
And why would anyone create an item that is assuredly going to create tons of conversation the second anyone sees it????

It's a banana guard.... really. No, the kind of bananas that you make into pie...
Banana Guard (http://www.bananaguard.com/)
Q: "Not all bananas are the same size or shape, so how can the Banana Guard fit them all?"
A: The Banana Guard was specially designed to accommodate the majority of banana sizes. Our testing indicates that over 90% of commercially available bananas will fit into the Banana Guard. Highly curved bananas can be straightened ever-so-slightly without harm to fit the Banana Guard shape. The opposite holds true of very straight bananas.
And before you ask.....
Q: "Is there a battery attachment?"
A: No. The Banana Guard was designed for its intended purpose only as a device to prevent banana trauma during transport.

omg, why would you NOT??????
that falls into the "Dewd! I gotta get one of these for (insert person of interest here)....where did you get that????" marketing technique
cha-ching!
basically, make it...theoretically-semi-kinda-useful and make it look obscene. it'll sell by the ton. :D

Oh, that is just awesome.
Personally, I think they should be combined with this (http://octodog.net/) as a must-have gadget package. ;)

I would never use a product that shows me whats inside a hot dog. I mean I love hot dogs, but that picture almost made me puke.

We have an octodog.
They were selling it at Copia, the "American Center for Wine, Food, and the Arts" in Napa, and we bought one. So did Heather's brother.
I think we used it once. It made us laugh. Now it is somewhere hidden away in the kitchen.
(next time a LoTer visits SF, I'll be sure to whip it out for ya)

Oh my, BTD! I never realized you could take that comment out of context and make it seem naughty! Color me embarrassed.
I should have said "Next time a LoTer comes to SF, I'll be happy to show you fun things you can do with a weiner."
I dare you to find something naughty there.

(next time a LoTer visits SF, I'll be sure to whip it out for ya)I see how it is. We're not good enough for the octodog. Well, there go your chances of ever seeing our fondue pot. Or our pasta maker. Or our juicer. Or...

Weren't there similar products after the Lorena/John Wayne Bobbitt incident a few years back?

similar, but not exactly. that was the oscar mayer haketauff device. mostly it just cut the weiner into bits and launched it out a car window. not nearly as cool as the 'cut it into tendrils' thing
