Today was truly a day of freeway Hell. All of you who have to deal with those concrete stuctures has my upmost sympathy and admiration.

Our day started off picking up mom at 5am. We were in Castaic by 630. We stopped where we always stop for gas and potty break, the Pilot station. Things started going downhill then. The gas pump was incredibly slow. It then didn't shut off, spilling at least a gallon down the side of my car. No one at the station seemed to care. The bathrooms were a total mess.

The traffic mess began at Lyons exit. Things were bumper to bumper until we escaped to the 210 (after hearing that I5 wasn't going to get any better).

The 210 was moving at a decent pace. The 605 was another mess.

After 4 1/2 hours we were in the parking structure. We arrived at the Plaza Inn 50 mins after our Priority Seating time of 8:50. They could not have been any nicer. They took ecellent care of us and we were seated immediatly inside, near the center of the restaruant. We had great character interaction. I love the Fairy Godmother. She is so good. While I was talking to her I saw my mom start cracking up. Captain Hook was trying to look down my tank top.

After a liesurly breakfast we headed for Buzz. The line was long, but went quickly. What caught my attention was the line for Star Tours. At 10:15 in the morning it said it had a 20 min wait, and the outside que was filled. This was a small sign of things to come.

Small World was a walk on. We then caught the Snow White show which mom liked, but it bored Nickolas. I thought it was a bit on the lame side. We took the train around to NOL Square. Autopia had both of the riser type sections of the que filled.

We got off the train and headed for HM. Again, most of the que was in use and the line was out into the main walkway. No Biggy, it moved really fast. We passed the time squirting each other with water bottles.

After Hm we headed for Pooh. I have never, ever seen Pooh with a line...until today. I was shocked. Even the CM's working the line were surprised as they opened up more sections of the que. The best part of Pooh was when the hive pulled up to the buzzing bee hive at the unloading area. My mom jumped so hard at that sound. The poor CM wanted to laugh so bad, it wasn't until I cracked up that he realized it was ok to laugh.

We then went to go ride Pirates. It was 2ish and it was having its daily breakdown. No Pirates for us.

We then went to DTD and had icecream and do some shopping. We were back in the car at 445. It took us until 7 to hit Lyons exit.

Even with the issues, we had a truly excellent day. We are all exhausted and ready to crash. I feel like I have been driving all day.

Once the weather cools a bit we will drag her down that way again. She says maybe, but I told her it wasn't up for debate, that we enjoy having her with us.

I took pics of the lines at Star Tours and Pooh. I will post them once I wake up more.

I didn't mean to be so negative. I was just really tired. We really did have a good day despite the problems getting there and back. I knew it was going to be hot and crowded, so that wasn't a big deal. We just rolled with the crowds.

It didn't seem negative. We understand the shorthand - we know that the magic is in there. Sounds like a fun day!

Seems like weekdays are as bad as if not worse than weekends these days.

We stopped in Wednesday night to hang out with a couple out of towners and man, the place was BUSY.

They did. Heck, we all 3 did. She didn't start "momming" me until we were almost home. She also enjoys the character breakfasts with just Nick and me. We don't rush her through her meal, and we are never in any big hurry to do anything. I have already warned her that we will be taking her again once the weather cools down.

Well, to be fair, August has never been considered an off-season. :)

I expect that as soon as the 50th is over, we will have our quiet park back for a while. At least I really hope so.
