I've opted to really mess things and use my admin powers to increase the number of poll options - so let's see if this yields anything.
Oh and I allowed multiple votes, so you can pick more than one

Multiple choice...as in I could vote for every book but one?

I couldn't vote for every book. That might imply I'd be willing to give a certain book another chance, and I don't believe I am.

The ranking of my choices would be:
1. Angle of Repose
2. Cadillac Desert
3. Devil in the White City
Looks like Time Traveler is going to win.

Well, it got a huge plug from a librarian. :)
I think whatever wins, I'm going to honestly try and read the book this time.

Looks like Time Traveler is going to win.
It's a good read. Confusing till you get the hang of it.
Though I think I sent my copy up to LibraryVixen.
(And NO, I dont want you to send it back LV!)
Looks like it. I'll be sitting this one out as what I'm reading about it doesn't much interest me.

I will also be out, as I need to read Angle of Repose by October, and at the rate I read these days, I will not likely have time for multiple novels.

I liked Time Traveler's Wife a lot. No real desire to reread it, as I remember it pretty well. I don't desire that particular punch in the gut again yet either. Beautiful novel though. Painful. Very painful.
I'm going to start another book thread, as I need to rave about Edgar Mint some more.

Stegner seemed to be a favorite at one of my colleges--always on the shelves for classes I wasn't taking. I've been curious, but never curious enough to actually start reading one of his.

Then, on Sunday morning of Reunion Homecoming Weekend, join fellow alumni and Stanford faculty in a discussion of this book. Here's more information on the Book Salon (http://www.stanfordalumni.org/learningtravel/alumnied/booksalon.html).

That's cool. I was supposed to help lead something similar for incoming freshmen one year. Unfortunately the dorm RA's told the students they didn't have to show up, so the whole freshman book thing didn't get off to a very good start.

Poll closes on the 26th. 'Edgar' still has a chance to win!
:D
Which ever book wins, it will give me an excuse to buy something.

So I started in on the Time Traveler's Wife figuring it was next up, but I thought I should bump this in case anyone wanted to join me.
