View Full Version : What jobs/chores do you hate?

I ask this because I just finished doing something I hate....a simple plumbing job to unclog a slow running sink. My wife's bathroom sink had been getting progressively slower and slower, and I finally had to deal with it.

So I take everything out from underneath, remove the trap and another piece, and the stench was overwhelming. Nearly lost my cookies. I then proceded to pull out what looked like four rats engaged in mortal battle from the pipe leading ino the wall. The mother of all hair clogs.

A full can of Oust and 45 minutes later, the job was done, but that was simply disgusting.

Edited to add: Oh, and I hate the job I'm avoiding right now by surfing the LoT. Damn this thread! Ok, off I go.

I don't like any of it - but I especially don't like it when I am the only one doing it. If I can sneak a bit of decorating/organizing into the mix, I'm fine. But, straight cleaning is a PITA.

Dusting the gold records is a real drag... ;)

Chores are a drag for me to do in the first place, but anything bathroom related irks me to no end.

Bathroom chores never go easy for me, and it usually never ends well.

Laundry - so, my honey does that, among some other things. :)

I hate all the errands and tasks that fill up my weekends. I should be taking my car in for an oil change this weekend (I should have done it last weekend actually) and I have grocery shopping to do. Then there's laundry. Didn't I just do that last week? My weekday evenings are too short to do this stuff during the week so I end up with my weekends overbooked.

I don't like yard related tasks. Mowing the lawn, digging out the weeds, etc. I'm just not a real 'outside" kinda guy and the fact that spending any significant time doing these tasks also aggravates my allergies causes me to avoid them even more.

Most indoor tasks don't bother me much, though I've never been a fan of doing the dishes. I've done my own laundry since childhood, love painting and redecorating, don't even mind dusting and mopping. But there's something about the dirty dishes that grosses me out.

Housecleaning is my mortal enemy. The munchkin had a last minute sleepover on Friday night and I had to give the little girl an inhaler puff cause I hadn't dusted for a while - ooops.

I can't quite justify a cleaning lady for a 1,000 sq ft apartment. Although on the other hand since I never do it except under duress maybe I can.

On the bright side I tried using the self cleaning feature on my oven and it actually works, who knew?

Yardwork and washing dishes (The Dishwasher - humankind's greatest invention!). I don't mind anything else.

Bless you for a Deadwood love that rivals my own.

Also, what DOES a Homo taste like? Hmmm.

I hate cleaning up after my roommate. HATE it.

I don't mind scrubbing the toilet, but I dislike cleaning bathtubs and showers.

I don't like taking out the garbage.

Scooping the litter box sucks big time, but that's the price you play for kitty critter love.

She hasn't been my roommate since December. I moved in with a co-worker last December, and she moved in with Tom!
